Chocolate Lab Pillows
Name of Maker: Linda Hines
Chocolate Lab Pillows - The puppy pattern came from QuiltMaker Magazine (June/July 2007) and Star is a design by Linda Hibbert of Silverlinings Originals. My sister has 2 chocolate labs so I thought I would make her these pillows. They are paper pieced and I chose my own fabrics. Have you ever tried to find dark brown fabric in Las Vegas? They were fun to make and my sister loves them.
Yellowstone & Teton National Parks-Sisters Trip
Name of Maker: Linda Hines
Yellowstone & Teton National Parks-Sisters Trip - This quilt commemorates a trip my sister and I took in 2006 to Yellowstone and Teton NPs. I edited the photos in Photoshop and then printed them on cotton fabric that I had treated with Bubble Jet Set 2000. The hardest part was picking out which photos to use as I could use all of them! I learned a lot about printing posterized pictures so they don't get blurry (thanks to my brother for that help). It came out great and garners a lot of comments.
Lewis & Clark Trails
Name of Maker: Linda Hines
Lewis & Clark Trails - My sister loves Lewis & Clark so when I came across this pattern I had to make it for her. The medallions are machine embroidered and the lettering was done by hand. I used a feather adaption for the borders and straight line quilting in the Indian Trails Blocks. It was a challenging project for me but it came out great and I know she'll love it! It's one of the biggest projects I tackled on my domestic machine.
Lily
Name of Maker: latpatt
Lily - I took a class in July 2008 at Country Quilter, Richmond, Ontario Canada from Elaine Quehl. It started with her photograph of a day lily. We choose fabrics that could be used for the fusible applique, I used mostly batiks but lacking the 'right' colors I ventured into some of the small print textural fabrics. I machine quilted this myself. I really like this technique and will follow up the lessons with photos of my own garden lilies and other summer flowers.
not named
Name of Maker: Margaret Birchenough
not named - Hand dyed cottons, silks and scrim. Some of the windows are embellished with tyvek, metallic paint and french knots in hand dyed silk yarn.
Mariner's Compass
Name of Maker: Susan McFarland
Mariner's Compass - I downloaded this EQ project from Electricquilt.com several years ago and just got around to making it. I wish I could remember the name of the designer! I found the different-sized compasses to be very cumbersome to put together, so I added thick piping and appliqued all 5 to a background square. The border blocks are Y blocks, using Cheryl Malkowski's "Fun with One Block Quilts" directions. Her method is very easy, wish I'd thought of it! Machine quilted on my old black Singer with variegated shiny "Rainbows" thread by Superior Threads.
Monkey Business
Name of Maker: Denise Lareau
Monkey Business - This quilt is for my Massage Therapist who is expecting in August. It's backed with fleece and machine quilted using my Janome 6600. I'm not very good at machine quilting but a baby doesn't care. My huband Mark drew the Sock Monkey that I used in the center block. It was suppose to be a monogram but alas, were not 100% sure of the sex so we went for something cute instead.
Northern Lights
Name of Maker: Kennalee
Northern Lights - Made of 25 darks, 25 lights and 25 pinks for my guild's Black White and One Other Color challenge.
Raindrops on Hostas
Name of Maker: Ruthann Zaroff
Raindrops on Hostas - I used Beth Wheeler's technique to create this quilt. The photo was taken by my friend Rose. I added tiny (1.9 mm) flat-backed Swarovski crystals to some of the raindrops to make them glisten.
Nobody's perfect (Spot the error!!)
Name of Maker: ajbdownUnder
Nobody's perfect (Spot the error!!) - I put this up as a background for my computer - and then the error became obvious! OF COURSE I fixed it!! (... or it could have been named "This side to the Wall"). w.i.p.

Name of Maker: Debra Cameron-Sartorius & Jennifer Minter-Thibault
Berkshire Blues - Two neighbours - the single dad with 3 kids and single mom with 3 kids - fell in love and married last summer. We made this king-size quilt for their wedding, named after the street where it all began ! There are at least 50 different blue fabrics (I lost count after awhile)
Sugar and Spice
Name of Maker: Debra Cameron-Sartorius
Sugar and Spice - Focus fabric squares - adorable angels - alternate with modified Rail Fence blocks, creating "framed" motifs. Made for my husband's great-niece, who was named for both her great-grandmothers.
Stars Stars Stars
Name of Maker: Melva Campbell
Stars Stars Stars - I started this quilt two years ago in a class taught by Shirley Stutz. I finished it this June and gave it to a friend as a retirement gift.

Circles - Class by teacher, Shirley Stutz
Wagon Wheel
Name of Maker: elaine stone-arthur
Wagon Wheel - This quilt was made as part of the Grab Bag 2008 Quilt Challenge, hosted by Tomme Fent. This quilt is hand-pieced, hand-appliquéd, and machine quilted and has the feeling of a fanciful well-traveled wagon. This year there were over 50 participants and photos of all of the Grab Bags, the completed quilts, and the artists’ statements were collected on a CD that is being sold to benefit Fiberart For A Cause. ( http://www.virginiaspiegel.com/NewFiles/ACSFundraiser.html ) A grab bag is a plastic bag filled with fabrics, fibers, embellishments, found objects, etc. – whatever the person sending would like to see in their quilt. The plastic bag must fit inside a Priority Mail flat-rate envelope, which was then mailed to Ms. Fent. She sent a Grab Bag to each of the participants who based on the content of the bag created a quilt. The maker did not know to whom the quilt they were creating would belong.
ABC's for Mrs. Capps
Name of Maker: Maureen Capps
ABC's for Mrs. Capps - A quilt for my DIL who is a kindergarten teacher. She needed to show the alphabet in five different places in her classroom and wanted a quilt for the "story chair". She picked all the material.
Aeroplane Wall Hanging
Name of Maker: Granny Fran
Aeroplane Wall Hanging - I couldn't find a PP pattern for the plane in Granny's block so I chose to use this one. I added the "Wild Blue Yonder" border with pinwheels to represent propellers.
Air Plane
Name of Maker: Lalia Corf
Air Plane - I found this sample block with my Granny's quilt patterns and samples, which came to me when she no longer needed them. I had never seen this pattern but was able to find it in Carrie A Hall's "The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America". My son, who pilot's antique planes was taken by the pattern so I decided to do a similar quilt for him.
