TOPIC: La Veta 2009 BOM Squad meet up

21 Aug 2008 18:40 #24653

Boy Sandy I know exactly how you feel. I keep shying away from saying I'll definitely be there because my health, United and family have taken so many things off my calendar in the last few years. I have to keep reminding myself that God's in driver's seat. But all things considered lol I'll be there!

Thanks Nancy I was going to ask if you know of any good quilt stores but I guess I'll just wave on my way by. We found a couple last time I was down there so we'll wing it.

Karen, we are near Asheville, west a ways from Winston-Salem. I've been there for a quilt symposium several years ago and my husband and I went to an Elderhostel in Old Salem. It's a couple of hours at least from here.

I want to go so badly that I can taste it. It all depends on DH's health a year from now. Maybe I can get a daughter to come stay with him. It's a long way off, but I sure want to be in on it :!: :!: :!:

Nancy, I understand what you are going through. My husband is disabled, and doesn't want me to go any where overnight. But for my own sanity I need to get away. So as they say, come hell or high water, I plan on going with you guys to LaVeta!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, sure hope it rains today. Although this is move in day at the UofI, and that always makes for a mess even on a nice day.

Hey Nancy is Hendersonville near Winston Salem NC? I'm driving to visit two of my daughters there on Friday. Hope your husband heals up quickly. Karen

Thanks, Sandy. Yes, we all have to take a day at a time sometimes. Our oldest daughter has made reservations at a B&B on a lake in Western NC for next June for our 60th anniversary. I sure hope we get there. Everyone is planning to come.

Nancy, All any of us can do is cross our fingers and hope things work out so we can meet up in La Veta. For several years if I asked for a day off at work, I would end up spending the day at the emergency room with one of my parents. I'm only now giving myself permission to plan ahead.

Thank you, Margo. We will see as the time gets closer. It sounds like such a great time and a great opportunity to meet so many of the special people here!!! Maybe someday Ricky & Alex will organize a giant TQS retreat - it would be sooooo fun! You can put me on the map if you want :-)

Sherry, you are welcome to come to the party, but to get on the map you have to post a block!!! :D

So Margo, Do you have me as a dot on your map? Just checking since I haven't checked this thread in a while, but did see your post about the map in your profile. I'm about 25 miles south of Olympia, WA.
