TOPIC: La Veta 2009 BOM Squad meet up

17 Aug 2008 10:20 #24330

Thank you for creating the map Bridget, that is fantastic. As I flipped through the photos I saw all my TQS friends, what a great feeling that is.

My hope is that the producers of TQS will acknowledge our desire to be in La Veta for a BOM convention and help our dreams come true.

I don't know if I said it was okay to post whatever about me but it is. Did I see snow in CO yesterday? What fun we are going to have.

Yes! Started snowing on some mountain passes (10,000 feet and higher) on Friday. We have had a ton of rain over the past 3 days (really needed the moisture, so this is a good thing). I can hardly believe that summer is starting to take it's final bows and winter is right around the corner. Where did the time go???? MK

Thank you! And thanks to Margo for sending me her list -- it made it really easy to put together! If you click on a pin, a thumbnail of the member's photo will pop up. If you click on this picture, their screen name will be displayed beneath it. This way you can see who's where! Just click on the little globe to return to the map. Have fun everyone!

Bridget, as usual, you've outdone yourself. What a fun way to see where various BOMers live.

Check out this web site!

At the upper right corner there is a "slider". Move that down to zoom in on the map. You can move the map with "click and drag" to get to the area you want to check out.

THANK YOU BRIDGET!

Margo, it is AOK to post my information! I am 1115 miles from LaVeta. So at 20mpg and $4 a gallon gas, that would be $223. Of course, that is the cheap side of a quilting road trip. Then there are the stops at all the quilt shops between here and there!

Cher4, Love your butterflies! How did you do it? What technique? I want to put a butterfly on a challenge quilt for our guild, and am toying (means it is so far only in my head) with different ways to put one on.

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, another gorgeous day, but gotta work!

Apparently the map says it'll take 24 hours and 18 minutes to go 1628 miles. I might even consider that if I can get holidays then. I only have 4 blocks finished but hopefully I'll almost be caught up by next month.
Margo, you can add me to your list.
