I'm pretty sure I can attend, since we've got over a year to get it all together, it should be a breeze, sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Heidi

You gals are killing me! I may have to crash the party! Can I come even if I only get one block done!!! I think the pitcher of margaritas was the last straw - I might not be able to stay away!!! :-)

I'm always willing and ready for a road trip. Have van will travel is my motto. Pitcher of margaritas would be great. Camille

Hmmmm.....I hadn't thought of the flag....I was just picturing all of us in baseball caps with the TQS star over the words BOM SQUAD!
And instead of a caravan, I think that meeting in St. Louis and taking one bus would be the way to go!!
The girls from the west can do the same thing from that side of the mountains!

Well, being the closest to La Veta, I can volunteer for the advance team responsibilities - maybe cold pitchers of margarita with snacks ready for you as the buses arrive in La Veta???? Knowing you creative girls, you'll think of some creative things for me to do to make it a fantastic event! Mary Kay

I agree with Ritzy & Maggie on the T-shirts and Tote Bags.

I'm really getting excited about this. My only hope is that it is not held on Aug 7, 2009. My dad will turn 100 and is expecting a "party". Assuming he is still with us I will be with him.

I just watched the show with Sue and sounds like she will be doing another BOM for '09. Guess we'll all be kept busy!

T-shirt and tote bag to hold our completed quilt (or all the luscious goodies purchased on our road trip)!

Meeting in St. Louis for a bus trip would be great for me. I have a cousin who lives in an Illinois suburb. All the logistics still have a long time to ferment and come together.

OK...this is what Sue had to say about the flag idea!

Too funny! I’d be glad to do it – size? ideas? Applique or just ink something on a piece of fabric that attaches to… radio antenna (mine is built into the window so that wouldn’t work) or just tape roll into a back window? Obviously it will have to have the TQS star on it… and what else? Tell everyone NO CIRCLES, I PROMISE!!!!

So....what do you think? Do we need a special logo for flags/hats/teeshirts?????????????
I don't do hats well, can never find one to fit, but I love tee-shirts!

What about a special logo so we can do different things. I like the idea of a flag and hat and tee shirt. Maybe tote to carry BOM quilt in.

St. Louis feels a bit out of the way for us down here in Texas! The caravan sounds like fun, but it's probably going to come down to practicality - such as

1. How much more time does it take to all meet somewhere vs
2. How fast can i get there so I can spend more time in La Veta?
3. How many days off will I have? ? for travel ? for BOM stuff

I trust we'll have it all worked out by October, so never fear..........not to worry!

DH plays golf....hasn't for years, though. Not sure if his EGO can stand playing for first time in years with total strangers! LOL

But I can visualize him strolling down the streets of LaVeta meeting all the locals and finding everyone's 'story.' He's really good at that. Since we are both from 'small town America' it will feel like coming home again!

I like the flag. Who's going to design one for us?

Sue Garman of course. Maybe one of the blocks with the large TQS star?
