Thank you Debbie for the correction. Sure don't want this to get lost. You can see why I like to check. I will also try to post the quilt this weekend. Will send an email when I do.

I have my triangles sewn and ready to post. I just received Edyta's book Friendship Triangles from Amazon yesterday and just love it. Wonderful patterns and photos.

I've talked about the triangle exchange, the triangle book, and a give-away of Sandra Dallas's historical novel, The Diary of Mattie Spenser on my blog http://www.quiltingbeargal.blogspot.com. Stop by and leave a comment for a chance to win the novel.

Can't wait to receive triangles from around the world.

Dear Mildred;

No, it is my granddaughter in front of her mom’s, (my daughter’s) sewing machine. She is one of four granddaughters, number #3 of 4-all sisters ! Some made their first quilts last year when I was visiting with them during Thanksgiving. She is almost four but she sat on my lap & was learning about the sewing machine. She, Hannah, also helped piece & quilt her older sister’s quilt, so technically I told her it is her first quilt too. I am a slow quilter due to a handicapped right arm, but will send you an e-mail when I get my quilt top done. I am leaning toward Edyta’s medallion pattern but don’t know if the fabric’s will work so I’ll have to wait and see. This is my first exchange so it will be fun to see what everyone comes up with! Hi all

I am ready to mail my HST. It will probably be on Monday. I will let you know the day I mail them.. I labeled all my bags (22) with my screen name, full name and address and the number (28) enclosed. Each HST is labeled with the City, State and Country. I have two of the Priority Mail envelopes but I'm going to check the difference between that and sending it Parcel Post. Just want to confirm that I am sending these to Debbie Wolf, TQS Exchange, PMB #9, 5554 South Peak Rd., Katy , Tx 77450-7130. I am so excited and appreciate all the time that you are putting into this great project. I was at my quilt guild meeting last night and showed them what I was doing. They said they wished they had known because they would have participated. Sadly, I told them there was a deadline and they were to late. This is so awesome I can't wait to see what I get back.

I once did an internet block exchange that was inspired by what happened on 911. The blocks were civil war period blocks and they were each marked where the block originated from, the date and the signature. I had to make 30 of the same blocks and send it to the coordinator of the exchange and I received 30 different blocks. I even found some beautiful Civil WarToile fabric that I used for backing.

Mildred, the only thing you need to change is the street name..it should be spelled 'Peek'.
Have you thought about starting a local exchange with your Guild? Depending on how many participate, it shouldn't be too complicated. The guidelines I used were based on those we used when we did a guild exchange with Edyta, so with a little tweaking, they could be used anywhere.

If you have a picture of your 911 quilt, maybe you could post it on this Forum for everyone to enjoy. I bet that Toile fabric is beautiful!

Regular parcel post is probably much cheaper than Priority and many of the return envelopes I've received do have stamps only. From what I've seen, members have been using the same amount of stamps as they used to mail it to me. What ever option works best for you is fine at this end.

I'll look forward to receiving your package next week.

Debbie

Anyone living near a post office can just walk in and get the tyvek or flat rate envelopes and not have to wait for their arrival by mail.

Dear Mildred;
I really hope I get one of your blocks! I love to see your smiling face icon when you make a post. I am not done with my blocks yet as my goal is to reach the 600 plus so I can donate to all the great causes and needs that have been brought up during the exchange. Can’t wait to see what your quilt will look like when it is done! Best wishes,

Debbie and Clara,

I’m preparing my HSTs for mailing today. I counted my HST twice before I started dividing them up for each of the exchanges and special groups. When I was done I recalculated my piles and found I was 8 short. I can’t imagine the frenzy of counting each of you will manage on SORTING DAY. I’m sending along 15 extra HSTs in a separate baggie to help in the final count. In the end I wouldn’t mind if you just grabbed a handful of HSTs and put them into a bag to send back to me and call it good. I get to participate in this wonderful exchange because of your work. Whatever I get back will be treasured. Thank you from the bottom of my HST piles.

I'm with you Susan! It's the spirit of this exchange that is the most exciting part! One big stirred up pile of HSTs is making more and more sense to me!! Hopefully Deb and Clara will have some back-up crew members for the big sorting day! Makes my head hurt just to think about it!!

We do have a wonderful back-up crew waiting in the wings! Several SoTTTs members who live in and around Houston have offered their help. Barb (Needleware), who is heading up the Sensational Strippers Exchange is in my Guild and she's also offered to help. And last, but not least, I am in the most incredible Bee. Even though they're not all doing the Exchange, they have all said they would help...and one of the ladies works at a church so she's going to reserve an activity room for us. They are all very special friends to me!

I can imagine the excitement when a new shipment comes. I did a swap for the Carol Doak Group and it was hearts. Oh how much fun it was. My living room floor was covered in crazy hearts, what a site. I can not even imagine what your floorS will look like for the swap :-)

Ohhh...that sounds like a fun kind of swap too. Maybe someone could start one of those up as a future exchange...I'm seeing beautiful batik hearts coming in from everywhere. Were they all paper pieced hearts?
