Alex is LIVE on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 10am PDT, 1pm EDT, and 6 pm London. All classes are recorded so they can be viewed later.

Inspired by a super moon that hung over New York City, Teri's quilt Moon Over Manhattan holds a special place for her because it was made the year that she decided she was going to be an artist. Teri also says that the quilt has another name. What do you think it's called?

Teri says this quilt's alternate title is Little Miss Sassypants!

You can learn from Teri in Show 2707.

With it being October, we thought we would spook things up a bit. Claudia Barner's Raven was "inspired by a PBS special about the communication and problem-solving skills of ravens." With machine piecinghandmachine, and fused appliqué, and some good old hand embellishment, this quilt definitely shows why you don't want to mess with a raven.

Raven by Claudia Barner of Mesa, Arizona was featured in the Innovative Appliqué category at Houston 2017.

TQS continues its feature of quilts exhibited in 2020 at QuiltCon as part of The Quilts of Victoria Findlay Wolfe exhibit. The exhibit is described as:

"Purposeful play is a deliberate free-form practice with one goal in mind: to ultimately improve the outcome of the finished product while capturing a thought, emotion, or technique. Always fascinated by color, pattern, and quilters who came before us, Victoria Findlay Wolfe found her life's true joy in exploring her grandmother's quiltmaking as a starting point.

Her diverse and exciting body of work stirs quilters worldwide to dig deeper, take risks, and experiment with fabric. This retrospective exhibit features a selection of Findlay Wolfe's inspiring quilts and the stories behind them."

Please enjoy Victoria's second quilt from the exhibition.
