Becky calls this her Baby Bullseye even though it still measures 40" x 40".

It can be found in Bullseye Quilts from Vintage to Modern: Paper Piece Stunning Projects. Though the results look complicated, expert teacher Becky walks you through how to tackle the construction, so you won’t believe how simply and easily they go together.

Alex and Ricky are joined on the set by Marci Baker and Michelle McKibben. Marci is back to share great tips on pressing and seams, along with tips for cutting and assembly line stitching a fast and visually exciting one-patch quilt design.

Then, Michelle McKibben shares an 1873 India Soldier quilt that was originally given to Michelle’s great, great, great grandmother as a presentation gift by soldiers that were nursed during their years in India.

Star members can watch Show 2402 with Marci and Michelle when it debuts on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

OR-7, by Christina McCann, is a tribute to the first grey wolf in Oregon since 1948. However, Christina chose to represent the grey wolf in beautiful Technicolor. It is a stunning tribute to a beautiful animal.

OR-7 was exhibited at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.

OR-7, also known as Journey, is a male grey wolf that was electronically tracked as he migrated from the Wallowa Mountains in northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Oregon to the southern Cascade Range.

From the SAQA site:

Repurposing used materials is one of the most effective solutions there is to deal with today's environmentally devastating waste issues. Fiber art also has a rich tradition of incorporating elements that would otherwise be discarded by turning them into compelling compositions.Only wall-hung, two dimensional, representational or abstract work will be considered for the exhibit.

Challenge yourself to make a work that either incorporates recycled materials, be it cloth or non-fiber items, or that represents such a process visually.

Size Requirements
Wall Hung – Height: 30" - 72", Width: 24" - 46", Depth: 2" for an embellished surface,
Weight: Not to exceed 5 – 10 lbs. maximum.

Congratulations to Meredith Witte of Germany. She has chosen the Cool Colorway with the Alison Glass Ivory backing and the Cool Accessory kit. We hope Meredith sends us a picture when it's done.

Didn't win and want a Sizzle kit of your own? Small quantities are still available in both the Warm and Cool colorways.

I am so excited for this next stitching adventure!! MISA, short for Madeline Island School of Arts, is one of the top five arts and crafts schools in the country. They provide a serene setting to immerse yourself in whatever your passion is...photography, painting, writing or stitching to name a few. Bringing instructors from around the world to share with you in a setting that allows for peaceful creativity...you are fed and cared for while the outside world keeps turning.

Luckily for those of us who may not be able to make it to the island, MISA offers 2 Western campuses...1 in Arizona and 1 in New Mexico! This week I head off to Tanque Verde for 5 days of fun with Sue Spargo!!!

Located in the Rincon Mountains and bordering the Saguaro National Park, the Tanque Verde Ranch is the perfect place for relaxing and learning a new stitch or two! Each workshop has a theme and as you can see the previous workshop participants really made wonderful headway in their projects!

This season the workshop is titled "Tell Me A Story," where you are encouraged to tell your own story using Sue's house and road quilt as inspiration.

Yes...I am brimming with story ideas, most of which include camping along the way...on my road to the next adventure! Maybe by next week, when we meet back here, I will have something to show from this wonderful workshop!

Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies...where we are connecting one quilter and one shop at a time!!

Reminiscence by Mariko Takeda won the Robert S. Cohan Master Award for Traditional Artistry at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018. This is one of the "Top 8" awards and it's not difficult to understand why it won. Mariko based the design on an antique quilt that she had seen. It is hand quilted, pieced, and appliquéd.

Freddy Moran hadn't been feeling well and just wasn't her usual self when it came to creating. What did she do to overcome her "quilter's block"? Alex found out when she visited Freddy's latest exhibition, Face The Year. It's something anyone can do.

The quilts were split into two exhibition sites. Bay Quilts in Richmond, CA and Hello Stitch Studio in Berkeley, CA.
