Our Chief Editor, Lilo Bowman, asks Ricky Tims to explain the International Miniature Quilt Exchange (IMQE). The Exhange began in 2017 when particpants were assigned partners. In 2018, each team was asked to submit their stories and pictures of their quilts to be included in the IMQE Exhibition. Be sure to join us each coming Sunday when we profile the quilts in the show along with their stories. To see the IMQE Exhibition in person, they will be featured next at the International Quilt Festival in Chicago, IL from March 28-30, 2019. The response to the exchange and exhibition has been terrific and TQS will host a second exchange in the future.

ATTENTION IMQE MEMBERS; Our viewers want to see all of your quilts and hear your stories. Please put your quilt and a picture of your story up in the Quilt Gallery. Be sure to name it as follows: "IMQE 2018 - the actual quilt name". That way viewers can search in the gallery by typing IMQE 2018 and find the quilts.

Stardust is the quilt on the cover of Lynn's book, Every Last Piece. She started making the little two-inch stars in this quilt back in 2011. The first little star was so cute, she had to make another, and another, and another.

Don't Miss Libby's Quilt "Joy Ride" Below

Alex and Ricky both spent time with Libby Lehman at the Houston Quilt Festival.

Ricky writes, "Had lunch with one of the greatest ladies I’ve ever known. Libby Lehman says hello to all the quilters out there. Regarding her life she said, “I am blessed”. Doesn’t she look fantastic? Her walking is slow and cautious but it’s without assistance. Our conversations are easy and rich."

And look at this fabulous picture of Libby and Alex. Alex writes, "With my Libby, Yay! "

I am always looking for inspiration wherever I can...and as the universe was listening, I got an invitation to visit a local quilter. I was surprised to come face to face with my dream home when I was in my 40s...a beautiful, as in majestic beauty, log home. If you have ever dreamed of one of those log homes where the logs look liked they were dragged by draft horses and carved by craftsmen...well that is where this quilter lives and stitches. Terri Kirchart is a prolific stitcher, and I am always inspired by not only her stitching, but also by her ability to keep up on all her projects. Isn't that what we all need and want...a friend who inspires us to get moving on our stitch projects! Terri is a fan of Sue Spargo projects and is a quick learner when it comes to the stitches that Sue uses in her creations. I love having photos of her projects because I can use them as a reference for stitch combinations that I might want to use. I hope you will be inspired by her projects. Also you can get the kits or patterns on http://www.suespargo.com/index.php. Have a great stitching week and pay attention to what your stitching friends are up too...there might be inspiration there!

Lynn writes, "I use a single thickness binding for more drape at the edge of a quilt. I think this is especially important for the smaller doll quilts."

Here she walks you through the step-by-step process of creating and attaching a single thickness binding to your quilt.
