What a beautiful studio! I am fortunate to have a personal sewing room and a quilting studio (for my long-arm) and they are just across a hallway from each other. I would love to build and design my own space! Thank you for sharing your space with us. You are encouraging, calming, and inspirational!
Thanks for the weblinks; the sewing cabinets, ruler rack, and AccuQuilt rack! ♥

Hi Anne: I'm not really sure why the video tour is so dark. I limited the daylight to 3 western windows to protect the fabrics & quilts. There are can lights & pendant lighting. When you're in it, it doesn't really feel as shadowy as the video appears.

Pamela: the size of the studio is just under 750 square feet. It's made in an L shape so that we could save a wonderful scrub oak tree out front. Completed quilts are kept in the dark closet, simply folded on fabric lined shelves. I take them out periodically to show people or to do a whole trunk show when I'm asked.

Thanks, Rebecca. I love seeing the studios of other quilters and learning how they work. I mostly stay focused on one quilt but always hit spots where its not coming together as I'd hoped. For those times, I need to take a breather with other quilts in progress. Usually solutions for quilt #1 hit me at odd times or when I'm doing simple, repetitive work.

So glad Lilo continued with the 'one more question' because the design tip at the end was fantastic. Love all your quilts, Nancy, and your studio--thanks so much for sharing. So many ideas and inspiration!

Beautiful studio. Can you tell me the dimensions of your studio? I heard you say 10 foot ceilings but not the room size. I would love to learn more about how you store your quilts too. Thank you for sharing.

Great tour! Thank you. I find it interesting how different people thrive in different environments. I'm sure you love that lighting, Nancy, but to me it's so dark that I wouldn't be able to work in there. I'd be too depressed by all the shadows to do anything. I like everything else about your studio, though.

Hi Barbara:
The quilt hanging in my 'office area' was made by my BFF Lois Podolny. It's called Joy is a Special Friend. It contains many references to our friendship over the years including workshops we've taken & quilt shows we've visited. It is heavily embellished with buttons & sequins & beads, etc. It weighs a ton! Lois gave it to me as a gift. I treasure the quilt and especially her friendship. You can get a much better look at the quilt if you watch our TQS show (#1907).

Hi Mary:
I ordered the studio chairs online from LexMod. They have a section of 'workplace' furnishings. It looks like my chairs (VEER) aren't currently available in the gray color I chose. I like the fact that the arms will swing up 90 degrees & get out of the way. I assembled them myself. I chose a manufactured wood floor largely for the color (gray❤️) and because it is easy to clean up the threads & dog hair with a swifter. It gets installed with a thin layer of foam between the concrete subfloor and the laminated wood flooring.

Barbara Leftwich/Thanks for sharing your wonderful studio and creatiions. You are a wonderment of inspiration. Just wondering about the Whimsical Quilt on the wall with the Friend message. Couldn't make out if you made it, and/or a friend. Thanks in advance for an answer, my email is: :-)

Nancy, can you tell me about the chairs you are using and what type of flooring you decided on? Your studio is something I aspire too.
