Easter Comes to the Cabin
Name of Maker: Shawn Priggel
Easter Comes to the Cabin - 2009 guild challenge (I never got around to taking a photo.) The theme was spring, we were given a size range, and we had to use the white with blue polka dots fabric. When I think of spring Easter comes to mind and after trying to design something really cool and original found I myself using log cabin blocks!

Aimee
Name of Maker: Rejeanne Santoro
Aimee - This is a quilt of my daughter Aimee. While at the International Chicago Quilt Show in April of 2008, I took a class with Tammie Bowser who thought the technique of taking a photo, using a computer to create a graph and using that graph to reproduce the picture as a quilt. It's almost like paint by number using fabric as the paint. Color value is extremely important when using this technique. I found the technique extremely forgiving. Every quilt made using this technique becomes an original. The most difficult part is choosing the right photo!
My Flower Garden
Name of Maker: Rejeanne Santoro
My Flower Garden - I wish I could give full credit to the designer of this pattern or even remember exactly which magazine I found it in. I loved making this because it was easy to take anywhere. The appliqued flowers where all cut from the same piece of fabric.
White Chocolate
Name of Maker: Rejeanne Santoro
White Chocolate - The moment I saw this quilt in the magazine, I knew I had to make it. I fell in love with what the values do for the quilt. The designer is Deb Luttrell. Her designs are so appealing to me.
Geometric 2
Name of Maker: Sue Bleiweiss
Geometric 2 - Raw edge Mistyfuse applique, machine quilted
Betty
Name of Maker: Linda Higgins
Betty - It's Finished.
Tree
Name of Maker: Marjolijn van Wijk
Tree - This is a free quilted and embroided mini quilt. I followed a workshop with the America quilter Mary L. Hackett, when she stayed in The Netherlands. She inspired me a lot. A lovely lady who wants to share her knowledge. I made this postcard for a fibermail swap. The theme was "landscape" and immediately I wanted to make a tree in this style. And I love it. The first tree I made for the swap, but I wanted to make one for my own as well. And you never me two exactly the same. It is made of cotton and tulle. And free embroidery for the little twigs.
Strawberry Splentor BOM
Name of Maker: atkinssm
Strawberry Splentor BOM - Blocks made in 2006 but not put together and quilted until 2010.
Winter is Almost done
Name of Maker: Liz Thompson
Winter is Almost done - I made this table runner for the TQS Table Runner Contest: Feb/March 2010. I used an assortment of blue print squares and strips as the backdrop for a carpet of fussy cut daffodils & other bright flowers. Machine quilted and lots of thread play on the flowers. Bright yellow grouting was added to the binding. Lots of fun to make and very cheery for the end of winter!
Flower Fairies for Leila
Name of Maker: Liz Thompson
Flower Fairies for Leila - I used the Flower fairies fabric print panels to make this quilt for a special little girl: Leila in Cape Town, South Africa - my little 3 year old niece who I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting & hugging. I cut up the little flower fairy panels and arranged them around the big central Laburnum fairy. I added pale green fabric for the background and yellow & dark green as accents. Quilt is machine pieced and quilted: free motion stippling + stitching in the ditch. Much joy & love went into the making of this quilt: "May the Flower fairies keep you warm at night and sprinkle pixie dust of hope & happiness over you as you sleep".
