FALL, With a Spring Kind of Attitude
Name of Maker: Ben

Joseph's Coat
Name of Maker: Mary Rapp
Joseph's Coat - Our local community theater is doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this summer, and both DH and I have parts in it. Kayce is our choreographer, who rehearsed with us on Monday night and had her first child, a girl named Phoenix, on Tuesday afternoon! This quilt is based on the show's logo, which includes the 6-color rainbow that you see here. I used 180 different fabrics from my stash in the rainbow, and the quilting consists of the 29 "color" words in the song about the coat, and the names of Jacob and his 12 sons, in variegated threads. It is backed with hot-pink minkee. Kayce will receive the gift from the cast next week - I hope she likes it!
Reds All Around
Name of Maker: Mary Rapp
Reds All Around - The same woman also requested one in red for Valentine's Day! As much as I like the pattern, I don't plan to make it again soon.
Whirl-A-Way
Name of Maker: Mary Rapp
Whirl-A-Way - My friend Evie asked for a "fall" table mat for her circular table. I had purchased a 10 degree wedge ruler and had been waiting for a chance to use it, and this fit the bill. I adjusted the directions and added the optional prairie points to make the needed size.
Days of Wine and Roses
Name of Maker: Robin Gausebeck
Days of Wine and Roses - Initially inspired by a wonderful run of Cherrywood hand-dyed fabrics, this quilt grew to represent more than just a study in color. Like the play and movie of the same name, it mixes the dark and dysfunctional with surface normality.
Carolyn's Village
Name of Maker: Brenda Houlihan
Carolyn's Village - This wallhanging was the start of my introducing machine embroidery into my quilting projects. The cottages were digitised by Carolyndesigns a dear friend from the USA. I was testing these design for her, this wallhanging was completely designed by me with these machine embroidery designs, I was able to use hand applique for the background and machine embroidery machine quilting to achieve this project. It has some lovely metallic threads from the windows so looks lovely under a light at night.
Tree of Life
Name of Maker: Brenda Houlihan
Tree of Life - I made this quilt as I love trip around the world, using up a lot of blues I had over from other projects, I machine embroidered a 'Tree of Life' in the centre of this quilt, hoping that this quilt will be handed down the family tree in years to come. The borders were also machine embroidered.
Snake River Log Cabin
Name of Maker: Brenda Houlihan
Snake River Log Cabin - I made this quilt for my Son and wife last Christmas, I had made several log cabins before this one, but I really liked the way the layout of this one was presented, it was a huge success story as they both loved it. It really is a most striking quilt.
Mariners Compass
Name of Maker: Brenda Houlihan
Mariners Compass - I made this Mariners Compass for my Sister Jan, she is terminally ill with ovarian cancer, it was a way I could wrap her in my love, she was a keen boatswoman for many years, so the design was very apt.
Kool Kaleidoscope

Kool Kaleidoscope - I saw the free show on TQS with Ricky Tims on kaleidoscopes, and set to and made this, it was so fun to make, and enhanced it with a variety of free motion quilting designs, I had not seen the TQS before making this, and it made up my mind to definately buy a membership, I learned so much from Ricky's great instruction and was able to produce this Kool Kaleidoscope.
Parasols and Pansies
Name of Maker: Brenda Houlihan
Parasols and Pansies - This quilt was machine embroidered block designs from Anita Goodsign, made in memory of my Mother, the layout and quilting was my own original design and was published in 'Flair' machine embroidery magazine UK. It was an effort to combine machine embroidery with quilting.

A Garden for My Mother
Name of Maker: Dinah Tackett
A Garden for My Mother - I made this quilt for my Mother. The center is done with Alex's paper pieced New York Beauty Block and the other piece blocks were from a BOM from my guild.
Grandmother's Flower Garden
Name of Maker: Dwynette Valenti
Grandmother's Flower Garden - This is a king sized grandmother's flower garden which I hand pieced about 10 years ago. I began hand quilting, but its overwhelming size and problems with my hands and elbow caused me to discontinue my work. My friend asked to finish it. It took her 2 years. The quilt is a traditional setting with an original border design. Each flower has a pale yellow center and is surrounded by green 'leaves.' Each unit is then surrounded by a white path which is quilted with 3 stones in each hexagon and it all is joined together with orange diamonds and triangles. The quilt top is appliqued to the solid white borders, which then had the flowers and diamonds appliqued to them. I wanted prairie points on the binding, but facing up. However, the angles were wrong, so after I got it back from the quilter, I also appliqued the diamonds around the edges, and finished by scalloping the corners. It received a first place and a Best in Category in the Omaha Quilt Guild Show, 2011.
Rory and Marley's Wedding Quilt
Name of Maker: Dwynette Valenti
Rory and Marley's Wedding Quilt - I actually made this quilt twice. The first time I had a comedy of errors in which a fabric ran, I washed the quilt, there were runs everywhere, and I tried to remove the runs, which resulted in much of the color also being removed. This second time, I decided I wanted more bright oranges and bright greens (the 2 colors my son had requested), and I chose to make my first scalloped border. I am very pleased with the project. It is in the Omaha Quilters Guild show and I should know how it did later today (2nd place!). Once I receive it back, I am considering painting inside the quilted flowers on the border and on the back. ....we'll see!
Jacobean Floral Fantasy
Name of Maker: Helen Mowry
Jacobean Floral Fantasy - This quilt started out as a practice block and developed as a quilt over a 10 year period as I was completely hooked by the colours and technique. I had always admired the work of Patricia Campbell and was privileged to take a couple of classes with her at the quilt fair in Houston. Several of the designs are adapted from the originals. Elements from the quilt were used to make the border designs.
