Scrappy
Name of Maker: Lori Sheirer
Scrappy - I made this using scraps from the "Quilting Across the Miles" quilt. I gave this to my Mom for her Birthday.
Memories
Name of Maker: Lori Sheirer
Memories - My father passed away in April of 2006; these are small quilts I made using my Dad's old ties. I made one for each of my three brothers, my Mom, and myself. This picture is of them all together with each "photo" quilt label showing on the back.
Catastrophe
Name of Maker: Lori Sheirer
Catastrophe - This would be the wall hanging I made right before the Legacy Star quilt. This is my second "quilt" I ever made. Please don't look too closely, I didn't do that well with the sashing. I love cats though, so I was happy with the result.
Quilting Across the Miles
Name of Maker: Lori & Mom (Gladys)
Quilting Across the Miles - The blocks were made in duplicates by my Mom and myself. We would then keep one and mail the other to each other. After 6 blocks each, we would complete our individual quilt however we wished. This is how I put mine together. BTW--Mom is in PA and I'm in MN, hence the reason for the title "Quilting Across the Miles".
Legacy Star
Name of Maker: Lori Sheirer
Legacy Star - This was the first quilt I made from a kit and really only my second quilt EVER (not counting the smaller wall hangings I've completed) . As I did each block, I learned new techniques. It was a lot of fun and I was very proud of the finished quilt.
The Sleeping Lady
Name of Maker: Linda Parkhouse
The Sleeping Lady - A client asked for a memory quilt of her time in Alaska. She is in the Air Force so wanted the F-15's. She requested both summer and winter sky and an array of uniquely Alaskan "windows".
Can't See the Forest for the Trees
Name of Maker: Linda Parkhouse
Can't See the Forest for the Trees - This quilt was for a group quilt challenge. I used the one-seam flying geese block shown on an early Quilt Show and made it smaller to maximize the use of the colorful challenge fabric. Thanks, Ricky!
My Heart Belongs To You, Ron
Name of Maker: Linda Parkhouse
My Heart Belongs To You, Ron - I made the tatted hearts from a published book and needed a way to display them. I used purchased hand-dyed graded fabrics and a commercial print to set them off. It was a gift to my husband for Valentine's Day that year.

A Little Night Music
Name of Maker: Linda Parkhouse
A Little Night Music - A quilt challenge between guilds in Australia and Alaska resulted in this play on words and fabric. Beaded Northern Lights dance across the "night music" of pianos and bed quilts. The Big Dipper (appliqued) and Southern Cross (in crystals) appear in the sky. The bold fabric was required, the rest was my interpretation of its content.

Dale Earnhardt Quilt
Name of Maker: Jean Buoy
Dale Earnhardt Quilt - Quilt was made for my son for his wedding. He had purchased the fabric and wanted a quilt made from it. Felt his wedding was an appropriate time for him to receive it.
Pocketful of Posies
Name of Maker: Kaye Garner
Pocketful of Posies - Original design made 100 percent with Jelly Roll fabrics by Moda, the Sanctuary line. The goal was to see if I could make an entire quilt top just using a Jelly Roll. Except for the backing, which is yardage, every other fabric is a 2.5 inch strip. It was really fun to design and fun to quilt.
One Who Walked Away
Name of Maker: Barbara Zuazua
One Who Walked Away - This is my first experience using Jaquard dyna-flo dyes on silk. I love the saturation and vibrancy I got but I used almost all of my dye (sampler 8 pack) on this small piece of silk. At the time I was also doing a lot of bobbin sewing with some gorgeous sulky thread designed for sergers. The design emerged by following dye lines that started to remind me of a story I read in college by Ursula LeGuin: "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omeleas".
City Walk
Name of Maker: Barbara Zuazua
City Walk - This is my first attempt of a whole cloth quilt. I was a painter before quilting so I used my trusty acrylics thinned down. Not very nice for quilting and the color is a bit dull so I've been experamenting. My goal is to make a quilt all about Philadelphia. It's my favorite place to be. The history and the art, the people, the food and the mood are all things I would like to capture. One of my inspirations is the wild mosaics done by a local man using all kinds of broken mirror, glass and ceramic. I believe it all started with a wall on an abandoned lot on South Street in the eighties and expanded to businesses and residences. Not exactly sure of the entire story, just bits of rumor over the years.
Ginny's Quilt
Name of Maker: AuntSewsie
Ginny's Quilt - Needed to use up some of my batik stash. I still have plenty more where that came from!
50th Wedding Anniversary Quilt
Name of Maker: Sengler
50th Wedding Anniversary Quilt - This was made to commerate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It is various white and cream laces, machine and hand embroideries, a fan block made by grand daughters and a drawing by great grandson. It contains photos (printed on fabric) of their wedding, their 4 children, and 7 grandchildern and 3 great-grand children.
Surf's Up
Name of Maker: Lilo Bowman
Surf's Up - This is a baby blanket for a family friend. Dad is from California and a big surfer-so this was the perfect pattern for the baby. It was supposed to be a small quilt, but I did not read the directions closely enough. It is a twin size now. I did heavy quilting with water, sand and lightning designs. Each of the surfboards also had its own design based on the fabric. I have also added a close-up of the quilting.
