Design Source - Description |
This is my first attempt of a whole cloth quilt. I was a painter before quilting so I used my trusty acrylics thinned down. Not very nice for quilting and the color is a bit dull so I've been experamenting. My goal is to make a quilt all about Philadelphia. It's my favorite place to be. The history and the art, the people, the food and the mood are all things I would like to capture. One of my inspirations is the wild mosaics done by a local man using all kinds of broken mirror, glass and ceramic. I believe it all started with a wall on an abandoned lot on South Street in the eighties and expanded to businesses and residences. Not exactly sure of the entire story, just bits of rumor over the years. |
