Henry
Name of Maker: Patti Matsos
Henry - These applique blocks are from Ellen Hecks applique patterns. It is not finished yet but will be real soon. It has taken two years to finish the hand appliqued blocks, I just need to sew them together! I used a background of hand dyed fabric in a dark navy blue with a photo impression of leaves in the background. I think it added a lot on interest to the overall design.

Baby Sarah
Name of Maker: Kathryn Kaser
Baby Sarah - In 1999, before I was a quilter, my grandson Levi was born. I wanted to make him a blanket, so came up with the applique font style for "baby". The "B's made a flower with heart-shaped petals in the center. The "A" and the "Y" are identical, one is just turned upside-down. I placed four "baby"s spiraling out to the corners on a whole cloth. It wasn't quilted and was only two layers. In 2007, a friend was having a baby, so I made this quilt in the colors of Sarah's room. We also used this pattern in the guild about that time for several community service quilts.
