Lakes & Land: Nature & Man

Featured item Lakes & Land: Nature & Man

SWMNquilts
SWMNquilts
Lakes & Land: Nature & Man - Created for the MN Quilt Show challenge in Duluth. It uses fused piecing in the lakes which are embellished with angelina and beaded. Along with wacky 9 patches for the land. The pine tree was fused and edged stitched then embellished. The northern lights in the sky are paper pieced (I found the pattern in a magazine- sorry but I can't find it, when I do I will note it here). The pieces were enlarged, flipped and rotated until they resembled the northern lights dancing instead of feathers then they were hand appliqued, quilted and finally embellished with iron on rhinestones.
