Bart's Quilt - My mom and I jointly made this for my brother. She pieced the original top and I added some additional fabric and quilted the quilt.
Christmas Stockings 2007
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Christmas Stockings 2007 - I made over 35 Christmas stockings in 2007 to catch up on all our family members. I tried to do something that spoke of each member. I have 2 more grandsons and a great niece that was born this year to catch me up. I was also asked if I would make 10 stockings for a family member that got one last year, as she is in ill health along with her hubby, and she wants to give something special to some people that have done a lot for her and her husband. So, you can guess what I'm going to be doing for the rest of November!
Southwest Pots
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Southwest Pots - This was a class challenge to design a quilt from an idea that we had, and use both pieced and applique both. It was fun, and I've done a few now.
Hawaiin Fantasy II
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Hawaiin Fantasy II - I purchased a variety of fabric while on vacation in Hawaii in 2006, but I didn't know what to do with it until issued a challenge from avery small gallery to do something with some fabric scraps the owner had. Well, i used what she gave me along with the fabric I bought and this was the result. I just sent this quilt to my sister in Oregon to use in a silent auction to raise money towards a non-profit agency. I hope it helps towards raising money, but I won't know who ends up buying it. I hope they enjoy it whomever that is.
Hawaiin Fantasy I
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Hawaiin Fantasy I - I was given three muu-muus by a friend with a request to make something with them for her to remember her deceased mother. Well, I sat on the muu-muus for about six months before I got an inspiration. I'm not sure of the pieced background pattern, as it was just something I saw some place and sorta just remembered how to piece it. Then, I played around with the donated muu-muus and some went towards borders and others towards applique. Anyways, the lady holding the quilt is the happy owner, and I was honored to do it for her.
Sunflowers
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Sunflowers - I was in a mood after taking a class by Quilt Designer Virginia Robertson to do something with bright colors. So, this is what I came up with. I wanted to just play around with ideas which is what Virginia was trying to get us to do. This was my second time making this quilt as I liked the design a lot. Both times they have sold with no problems. This first one ended up in Denver, though I never did learn who bought it. I did get word back that it's hanging on a dining room wall!
Jazz Drummer
Name of Maker: gunnywendy
Jazz Drummer - I worked on this quilt with two other quilters on a website that gave out a fractured quilt challenge. We were to find a picture that we could enlarge and then cut apart and send those parts to the other two quilters. When we got those sections back, we were to sew them together and then quilt them. I think I ended up finishing mine first as it was intended to be a graduation gift from high school for a grandson who had been a drummer for his high school band and jazz group. I got it done and he seemed to like it. I did one of a Harley motorcycle for another grandson that graduated.
Betty Boop
Name of Maker: Roberta
Betty Boop - This was a t-shirt quilt that was commissioned using the customer's collection of Betty Boop shirts and fabrics.
My Tennesse Waltz
Name of Maker: Suzanne Smith
My Tennesse Waltz - After my first quilt class in 1981, I tackled this machine-pieced and hand-quilted quilt. I tried to coordinate the colors to match one I found in a quilt book: Scrap Quilting. I was born in Nashville, TN and thought the Tennessee Waltz was appropriate for my first project! It took me 25 years - I obviously didn't work on it continuously - but when I was chairing my club's quilt show in 2006, I used that opportunity to finish the quilt so it could be in the show. I made it! I named the quilt "My Tennessee Waltz". It hangs on the wall in my quilt studio now.
Oscar & Company
Name of Maker: Mary
Oscar & Company - This quilt took me 12 months to make. A gift for a dear friend and co-worker.

Wade's Wild Ponies - Baby gift
Sea Turtles
Name of Maker: Mary
Sea Turtles - A "good bye" gift. Amanda rehabilitates aquatic animals. Time would not allow me to make the entire pattern so I appliqued the turtles and machine quilted dolphins.
Sunshine and Diamond
Name of Maker: Janine Medeiros
Sunshine and Diamond - This is a quilt my sister made. We picked out the fabrics together, I showed her how to make the quilt and the appliqued "diamonds." When she was finished, I machine quilted it for her.
Mason's Dinosaurs
Name of Maker: Susan McFarland
Mason's Dinosaurs - I'll be giving this quilt to my almost 3-year old great nephew for his birthday next month. He's TOTALLY into dinosaurs! Backing is flannel with dinosaurs all over it. I don't have any grandchildren yet so I'm really enjoying my sister's grandsons!
Fans All Around
Name of Maker: Wilma Moss
Fans All Around - I had this small piece of fan fabric and loved the bright colors on the black background. I figured out how to use the maximum amount of the fabric for borders and that determined the size of the quilt. I drew the fan pattern on EQ6 and paper pieced the blocks.
Card Trick for Jethro
Name of Maker: Audrey
Card Trick for Jethro - Quilted sashiko-style using Perle. Borders added Quilt-as-you-Go. Motifs cut from border-print appliqued within the quilt to support Nursery genre. New owner born prematurely on 7th November, 2008
Garden of Giving
Name of Maker: Women of 1st U.M. Church
Garden of Giving - We had a quilt retreat at our church, and every woman who attended contributed a square. Some brought other projects to work on, but many were first time quilters who made a square as a beginning project from which to learn. We purchased brightly colored fabric and a white background, so each block would be individualized in style and pattern and yet tied to the whole in fabrics and colors. When it was over, my sister-in-law and I pieced it all together, added black border and binding and quilted it. Then we donated it back to the church as a fundraiser to help send a group to Ghana to build a school, and it earned over $500 for this worthy cause. It was a popular fundraiser because so many women in our congregation participated.
