Rocky Mountain (traditional name)
Name of Maker: Rhonda Stevens
Rocky Mountain (traditional name) - This pattern dates back to the 1860's so I chose Civil War Reproduction fabrics. The quilt is a representation of my summer. The fabrics are from a Quilt shop that was noted in a National magazine as being on the "Ultimate Shop Hop" and it happened to be not far from where we were going on summer vacation in Waxahachie, TX. The block is what my Quilt Club worked on in July and the quilting designs and binding method is from an instructional DVD from Ricky Tims that was in my goody bag I got on my visit to see a taping of The Quilt Show the first Sunday in August.

Summers day
Name of Maker: Shelly Lacelle
Summers day - My appologizes to the designer of the great book this quilt came from. I really enjoyed making this quilt, the precision of each point was made using trapizoids! I did'nt even know what a trapizoid was until making this quilt.

Hand-drawn and machine appliqued with thanks to Vikki Pignatelli's "Quilting Curves."
Lighting Strikes
Name of Maker: JackieOL
Lighting Strikes - I said I would never make a queen size bargello, and I've also learned to never say never! I made the borders a little smaller because it will be displayed on our familyroom wall not on the bed. It took hours and hours but I love the results. Will I make another? Not any time soon!
Shades of Frank Lloyd Wright
Name of Maker: JackieOL
Shades of Frank Lloyd Wright - These are Roman Shades in my bedroom. I love the way they turned out! The strips are cut one inch smaller that the pattern called for and I omitted the center braid. You can not tell from the picture, but when the sun shines on the shades they look like stained glass because of the multi layers of the seams.
First Baby Quilt
Name of Maker: Ashley
First Baby Quilt - I just picked out some fabrics and started sewing! I heard you should use polyester batting for baby quilts, but in the end I've found I prefer cotton. But practice makes perfect! I thought for sure my sister was having a girl, but now we've learned she's having another boy! Oh well, I guess they'll have to try again. I added some embroidered hearts in the middle, because I'm an experienced embroiderer, but this was only my first quilt, so I thought I should jazz it up a little.
Height Chart Quilt
Name of Maker: Ashley
Height Chart Quilt - My nephew's name is Hudson, and his father is an architect, so we did a "NY" theme, with the buildings of NY, and the checkered cab border. My husband helped design it. You can't see it, but I spent a lot of time adding different stitches for each letter and number in the applique, and I even added a little butterfly, because those are my nephew's favorite.
Wonky Log Cabins
Name of Maker: Leslie Sorenson
Wonky Log Cabins - This quilt, made in a class by Amy Stewart Winsor, was my first attempt at an art quilt. It sat around forever waiting for me to get up the courage to embellish it. Once I got started, it was great fun.
Marine Marriage Sunrise
Name of Maker: Jeanette Dean
Marine Marriage Sunrise - This quilt was made for my son's wedding. Jeff married Kristin on June 4, 2005. Jeff is a Marine and graduated from the Naval Academy. "Making Waves" seemed like an appropriate pattern name for a Naval Academy grad. Kristin loves shades of violet and purple. My other daughter-in-law, Laura, helped me select the pattern and the fabric. The quilt is queen size and was machine pieced and quilted on my Bernina 440.
Kelsye's Kinship Quilt
Name of Maker: Jeanette Dean
Kelsye's Kinship Quilt - This quilt was made for our first Grandchild, Kelsye Indigo Dean, born on November 28, 2003. Many of the squares were made by family members - relatives of both of Kelsye's parents in honor of Kelsye's birth. This was my first quilt. I have learned a lot since making this quilt!
Liane's Turtles
Name of Maker: Laura Dean
Liane's Turtles - My daughter-in-law, Laura, made this quilt for her second child (our second grandchild), Liane Elizabeth. This pattern caught Laura's attention when it was published in 2004 and this was the quilt she wanted to make for Liane's birth. This is Laura's first quilt to to piece totally by herself. Taking care of two little girls didn't leave her much time to work on it so she finished piecing the quilt top and then let me quilt it and bind it. Laura and I enjoy working on quilts together.

Blue's Clues - This was made from a fabric panel and given to the Child Advocacy Center in Tyler TX for childern.
