Matanzas Memories (for Carolyn)
Name of Maker: Glorya Anderson
Matanzas Memories (for Carolyn) - Large lap quilt made for my niece who had ALS. She and I loved to look for shells on the beach in Matanzas Bay, Florida, hence the use of many shell fabrics and shell-inspired batiks. This was given to her on her birthday in June of 2006. She loved it and used it. She passed away in January, 2007.

Grace Mountain

Grace Mountain - A popular contemporary Christian song, "Mountain of God" By Third Day inspired me to look for a delectable mountain pattern. Bright cheery fabric and butterflies remind me that God's grace is sufficient. Custom quilted with lots of fun feather flurries.

Happy Birthday, Nyssa!
Name of Maker: Brita Pingry
Happy Birthday, Nyssa! - This was a birthday quilt for my grandaughter, Nyssa, for her 11th birthday. I made a pillow to match. With her name appliqued in the center of the quilt, and the fun fabrics, it was a big hit!
For a Veteran
Name of Maker: Brita Pingry
For a Veteran - The quilt was started in Texas at a retreat. When it was finished, I knew it had to go to a vet at the Murfreesboro (TN) Veterans Administration rest home. Luana quilted it when I decided to donate it. I don't know who received it; I just hope the vet is warm and knows the love that went into its making.
No doctor for 25 days!
Name of Maker: Brita Pingry
No doctor for 25 days! - The challenge was on! We each drew three Crayolas (from a paper bag so you couldn't see them) and you had to use the three colors in the quilt, together with any others you wish. My colors were Scarlet, Black and Tickled Pink. The apples are made from tiny trips of fabric sewn together, the applique pattern was cut and fused to an offwhite background, and remaining strips were used for the framing. The quilts were hung at a local quilt shop, where customers voted for their favorite. Mine won first place!
Stained-Glass Tulips
Name of Maker: Debbie Short
Stained-Glass Tulips - This is my first Stained glass quilt project. I wanted to quilt it to look like real stained glass...lots of little "pebbling"! It turned out just the way I wanted! After I had it up on the wall for a while I decided that it needed crystals....I did go mad with that hot fix iron...very addidcting!
Grassland Sunset
Name of Maker: Dar
Grassland Sunset - Applique of Mt. Shasta, foothills and tree line from my living room window. It is appliqued over hand dyes colored like the many sunsets here. It has appliqued stylized flying geese across it and is bordered by a pieced tree (to represent the forest), flying geese,(to represent the name of the Ranger district and we are located on the Pacific flyway) Bear paw (to represent Smokey the Bear). The final frame is done with fabrics to represent the sky forest and grasslands.
Goodbye Sharon
Name of Maker: Judy Decker
Goodbye Sharon - This quilt was made as a going-away gift for our pastor. I created the squares, and the parishoners wrote or drew on the squares. Then I put it together and presented it to her at her going away banquet.
