Out of the Inferno
Name of Maker: Ardy Tobin
Out of the Inferno - "Out of the Inferno" celebrates my daughter's recovery from a deep and frightening depression. I used fabrics from Caryl Bryer Fallert and Heidi Stoll Webber to symbolize rising from the dark of depression into the light. The fringe on the bottom is ultrasuede, torn fabric, beads and thread lace made from sewing on washaway stabilizer. The words, from Dante's Inferno, in Latin, translate as AND WE CAME FORTH AND ONCE AGAIN BEHELD THE STARS. I machine quilted it to look like fire.

Springtime Impression
Name of Maker: Janet Elia
Springtime Impression - I first saw Rebecca Wat on Simply Quilts and fell in love with this quilt. I started folding batik fabrics creating the 125 folded flowers needed to make this quilt, tacked down eack flower point and added a pearl embellishment in the center of every flower. I even did my own machine quilting! The quilt won a first place ribbon in my guild's local show! Very exciting!
Life is an E Ticket Ride
Name of Maker: Ardy Tobin
Life is an E Ticket Ride - Made for a friend who had a rough year and said, "Life sure is an E ticket ride!" - - remembering the early years when Disneyland had ticket books and the scariest rides were the "E ticket" ones. I used Heidi Stoll Webber and hand dyed fabrics. The quilt is pieced with the roller coaster appliqued on top. Old Disneyland E tickets were scanned and printed on some of the lighter fabrics. The clouds are Angelina.
James' Raiders
Name of Maker: Elaine Busse Floyd
James' Raiders - My friend and co-worker loves the Raiders. I quilted this with football terms and names of former and current Raider coaches and players, and also inserted the names of rival teams that his friends and family love. The striped fabric represents the referees. It's backed with silver and black Minkee and velour, and has become a family favorite for snuggling.

Mariner's Compass
Name of Maker: Janet Elia
Mariner's Compass - This quilt started out as a class sample, then I donated it to my guild "Silver City Quilt Guild" to be the raffle quilt for our first show! My friend Diana quilted it ... with a ship in the bottle - it came out beautiful! I now have to buy a million tickets to win my quilt back!!! Thank you to Jennifer Chiaverini who gave her approval for her pattern to be raffle quilt for a brand new guild's first show!
Alaskana Brick Road
Name of Maker: Elaine Busse Floyd
Alaskana Brick Road - This quilt was made in a hurry when my friend (and ex-husband) needed emergency open heart surgery and was going to be medivacced to Seattle. He lives in a cabin over 100 miles from civilization, only accessible by boat or snowmachine (or dog sled!) depending on the time of year. It was a great reminder to him of home, and he recovered and is back in his cabin in the Alaskan wilderness.
Neal's Jungle
Name of Maker: Billie Shannon
