My nephew Rob just loves Norwegian Troll dolls and has a large collection, So I made him this quilt to hang on his wall with 4 Trolls. It is appliqued with hand painted faces and machine quilted
Or maybe I should call it "Never say Never". I have been making bed quilts for years but really didn't see that I would want a wall hanging. Well, I made the "Happiness" wallhanging from Jacqueline de Jonge for one sister. Then I made it for another sister. Wait! I want one! So I finally made one for myself. Really like it! Looks great hanging at the end of the hall.
A tribute to the Russian illustrator and painter, Ivan Bilibin, using a selection of his figures, backgrounds and surrounds combined to form a new whole. The inside is appliquéd and painted and the border painted. It is mostly in silk, some of which was embroidered prior to applying, with a little cotton.
in 2014 the Wolf Hills Quilters chose this Debbie Mumm pattern for their guild's Block of the Month. This is mine with slightly personalized color choices. Made completely from stash.
I started piecing these cute baskets using Alex's cutting technique. It soon became clear that I wouldn't live long enough to make this quilt. I decided to buy a Go Baby and the die to cut the remainder of the blocks. I used the color and setting ideas from Alex's book on neutrals. I am pretty sure that there are not two baskets the same...wow, a lot of neutral fabric and still more in my stash. Thank you for the inspiration, Alex.
I fell in love with the meadow print of the Stonehenge fabric collection. I asked my local quilt owner to order the line and she did. I purchased 1/2 yards of 10 prints. I used a barn red fabric for the accent.
I was inspired by the pattern Birthday Cake Quilt by Elizabeth Hartman.
My local quilt presented a block of the month to the members. I decided to make mine using felted wool for the applique. The background and piecing is all 100% cottons. The wool applique was fused and then machine appliqued to the background, I used my Bernina to do some of the emblishing...flowers and tendrils. It won 3rd place in the machine quilting catagory at my local guild show 2015.
The Roses Are Red queen-sized quilt is hand appliqued, machined quilted and trapuntoed with piping in the scalloped borders. Made for a daughter that grows roses and she'll get it as soon as it is no longer needed for trunk shows!
28" x 54" Runner made to play with 60 degree triangles made from strip pieces. It had been raining here a LOT and I just wanted to make something that was representative of sunshine and fun summer days. Original pattern.
I began designing this quilt as a project for a class I took. As I was making the flowers, I had the opportunity to enter a show with a fabric challenge using a floral fabric. I used parts of the challenge fabric for the centers of the flowers. I sent a piece of the background fabric to Spoonflower and had it printed in a larger scale so that I could use it to applique the flowers on top. The quilt won the challenge and allowed me to buy more fabric!
Cycling on the back roads of Wisconsin last summer, I spied twin baby swiss calves and snapped photos of them. This is my first cow quilt. Initially, I had created the outline to capture the realistic image of this little babe, but then decided to challenge myself to work more whimsically. The quilt uses my Picture Image Appliqué process. Completed January, 2014

This was made for a regional exhibition of the Embroiderers guild in the UK, and is made mostly out of an old, unwanted shirt. I made a stencil of the design, used markal sticks and fabric paint, then free machine embroidery, then free machine quilting. Finally I added some beads to add a bit of sparkle.
