Holo-Holo (Bummin') Kauai - This is a Ricky Tims Rhapsody-style quilt inspired by a trip my daughter and I took to Kauai to celebrate her 37th birthday. I combined my love of Rhapsody-style quilt making with my love of Hawaiian quilting. the center of the quilt was inspired by our trip to the Kauai Hindu Monastery, and the hibiscus flowers all over the island. There is a bump on the the waves in the border, and that, my friends, represents my daughter's bum as she was snorkeling in the ocean.

Shanes Cherry Rose - lots and lots of quarter size circles close to 1000 I think. Bonnie did the spider webs for me. The spider is important to native americans she is the creater of the earth. Anyway I love the webs. Quilt is quilter with a cotton batt and a thin poly batt on top to make the cherries pop.

That Bloomin' Curve - That Bloomin' Curve was created for a charity quilt challenge themed BLACK & WHITE & ONE OTHER COLOUR. Entries were auctioned off to raise funds for the Manitoba Brain Injury Association. This small art quilt raised $150 CDN and won a ribbon for Best Contemporary Piece at Quilt Reflections Manitoba 2010.

Damsel Fly - Damsel Fly is a photo inspired quilt. It was created from photo to sketch to fibre using a reverse bobbin stitching technique to transfer the design to the quilt surface. The colour/detail was then filled in with acrylic paint and thread painting. This piece sold in 2012 at a Cafe Gallery in Okanagan Falls, BC Canada.
The Silk Giraffe

The Silk Giraffe - This quilt was designed as a private commission for a client to give as a baby gift. It was designed around the colour scheme of the baby room and the layette they had chosen for the new arrival. The joyful recipients sent me this lovely photo of their tiny infant on the quilt with permission to use the photo. The circles are designed using multiple textures of fabric such as minky, faux leather, flannel and silk for little fingers to explore. The giraffe is made entirely of silk.
