Happy Pineapples
Name of Maker: Linda Fry
Happy Pineapples - Changed the pattern a bit to make it square. USed fabric from stash. Tried to arrange fabric in blocks so that it looked like a gradual transition from one color to the next. Made as a Christmas gift for my sister and her family
Smooth Morning
Name of Maker: Dorothy Van Dyne
Smooth Morning - These placemats were an entry in Pamlico River Quilters Guild's 2010 Quilt Show. The theme was "Going Green" so I recycled Seattle's Best Coffee Bags into placements. The napkins are made from the same fabric as the placement binding. No awards were given in the "recycled" category, but a photo of my placemats did appear in our local newspaper publicizing the quilt show.
Simple Yet Elegant
Name of Maker: Janice
Simple Yet Elegant - This was one of the very first hand appliqued, hand quilted quilts that I made.
Un Petit Peu de Nouveau
Name of Maker: Robin Gausebeck
Un Petit Peu de Nouveau - My first miniature quilt. It was so much fun to make that I may do another one. It didn't use up very much of my stash, though.
Fossil Fueled
Name of Maker: Sally Gould Wright
Fossil Fueled - this quilt was the result of a class with Barbara Olson at Asilomar this last Spring. We were encouraged to bring objects from the natural world (I chose some pieces from my son's fossil collection)sketch and photograph them in various arrangements, and then interpret these images in fabric. I fused the composition using 100% cotton batiks and hand dyed fabrics, added dimension and detail with colored pencils and paint, free motion quilted the quilt with silk threads and added beads for emphasis. I was honored to have this quilt chosen as a finalist in the IQA Judged Show - Quilts: A World of Beauty at Quilt Festival in Houston in 2010.
The Ruin
Name of Maker: Janelle Rebick
The Ruin - My father wrote a book which is about a boy living in an indian ruin near Mesa Verde national park. I wanted to make a quilt to honor this. I used intuitive piecing and my own hand dyes to make the quilt. Is is portrait mounted onto another piece of hand dye for the background.
Oh Christmas Tree
Name of Maker: Janelle Rebick
Oh Christmas Tree - I found this pattern in the Stiching Post in Sisters. I decided to make it for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I used my hand dye for the background. The tree is machine appliqued down. It is heavily quilted with small free motion circles.
Remembering the Past
Name of Maker: Janelle Rebick
Remembering the Past - I had these photos of my grandparents that I wanted to use in a quilt for my father. I printed them on fabric and then used additional fabric, paper, organza and rope for the background.
Dragon Crayons
Name of Maker: Lizz Ploppert
Dragon Crayons - I started this 2 years ago and ran into thread problems so stashed it under the table and went onto something new. January is "finish-it-up" month for me and this time there were no problems at all! I'm thinking threads have improved a great deal (or I have!) It's done!
IT'S A DAISEY
Name of Maker: ANNE LEMONS
IT'S A DAISEY - THIS IS MY OWN DESIGN AND QUILTING. THIS WAS MY FIRST WHOLECLOTH QUILT QUILTED WITH MY JUKI TL98E AND HOMEMADE FRAME. THIS WAS A CHALLENGE, BUT IT TURNED OUT FINE.
Almost Traditional
Name of Maker: Barbara Despain
Almost Traditional - Started in 1995, picked up in 2008 & finished in 2010 for my oldest daughter. I'm determined to finish all UFO's.
1923 Stars
Name of Maker: McKenna W. Powell
1923 Stars - I made this quilt back in 2001. It it a combination of hand piecing and machine piecing on my vintage 1923 Singer handcrank sewing machine - that's how it got it's name. It was my first attempt at machine quilting which I did in the open spaces. I hand quilted all the stars. It's king sized and gets used constantly.
LeeRoy Stars
Name of Maker: Salapril
LeeRoy Stars - Old art of Chicken Scratch embroidery, hand stitched about 4 years ago. Scripture was embroidered by machine in the past week just before I finally got to quilt it.
Quilt for Cachet
Name of Maker: Chicagoquilts
Quilt for Cachet - Found this fabric while shopping at Hobby Lobby after a vacation with my daughter. A year later I decided to make her a quilt. Topstitch the fabric pattern to create the quilting. We both love Asian design and flair. So I used the colors in the quilt to decide the borders and sashing.
Mariner's Dream
Name of Maker: Rachel Richert
Mariner's Dream - Art quilt. Foundation paper-pieced then appliqued to a background. All cottons. Batiks and hand-dyes and commercial prints. Heavily beaded and machine quilted with metallic and rayon threads. 41" X 55". Pattern available.
Reminiscence
Name of Maker: Karen Boe
Reminiscence - I saw it at the MN Quilt Show and fell in love with it. I did not applique at the time and never dreamt i could make it. Later, I decided to do it as a block of the month. I did the first block 3 times with different tehniques. I found I loved appliquing and finished it in 5 months.

Couch Quilt 2
Name of Maker: Katie Williams and Mary Kay Runyan
Couch Quilt 2 - DH wanted another couch quilt to be able to use for weekend naps. Katie did an excellent job with color selection and quilt design. Cutting and piecing was a team effort. This was the first quilt of any significant size that I quilted - with free-motion quilting.
