Feels Like Home
Name of Maker: Nfiegirl
Feels Like Home - This is a table runner 24 x 60 that I made as a surprise hostess gift when we visited Mass. last year. Her home is new but made to look old, with exposed beams, etc. She had a rectory table in the kitchen and when I seen this pattern with those colors, I knew it was perfect!
trip to the beach
Name of Maker: Cindy Bettinger
trip to the beach - I used a digital photo that represents one of my son's and his wife's favorite "poses", namely, walking away from the camera. I blew it up to a size that used 9 8.5x11 sheets of printer fabric, and once it was assembled, with a coordinating pieced border, I touched up the main figures in the picture with paintsticks and after heat setting, went ahead and free motion quilted, making pebbles on the beach, or streaks in the sky, etc. I gave this to them for Christmas.

Magic Carpet
Name of Maker: Krista Withers
Magic Carpet - I adapted the Twin Peaks pattern to include open spaces for trapunto quilting. The trapunto designs are from Hari Walner's book,"Trapunto by Machine". This was my first trapunto quilt and although the process was time consuming, I love the results and am looking forward to doing more!

My First Quilt
Name of Maker: DixieT
My First Quilt - I bought a book I was drawn to with celtic designs made using bias tube strips and a pattern from the book of the lover's knot design. I made this quilt for friends of my family for their first baby boy. They named him Noah, and I was able to find a Noah's ark stencil which I used to quilt in the border of this quilt.

Soccer Coach Tom Quilt
Name of Maker: DixieT and the soccer team
Soccer Coach Tom Quilt - This quilt was created for my daughter's soccer coach. My best friend and I decided to have each team member use permanent marker to write a message on the white squares and we used the team colors in fabrics to surround each white block. I used freezer paper, a craft knife, light box, and fabric paint to trace the logo in the middle of the quilt. Tom the coach was very passionate about not getting monetary gifts from the team members, but when we all gathered around him to watch him open this gift he teared up and said his grandmother was a quilter and it meant a lot to him!
Roses In the Creek
Name of Maker: DixieT
Roses In the Creek - I used Dina Pappas' method with a soft fusible backing that has a grid painted on it in 2 inch squares, making it easier to place each cut square and simply fold and sew a straight line. This quilt took FOREVER to make! Then, I got a crazy idea and decided to add my own touch with the roses, made of the yellow fabrics in the quilt, which I quickly tired of making after the first one, lol! The quilt turned out VERY heavy due to all the seams and the fusible backing, so I gave it to my stepmom who is always cold.
Dude Ranch Star
Name of Maker: DixieT
Dude Ranch Star - After finding a wonderful fat quarter pack of Moda's Dude Ranch fabric which has a loose weave, but awesome stripes that reminded me of growing up in New Mexico I drafted the middle star on graph paper and had the idea to fill in around the star with many different black fabrics. This was my first attempt at paper piecing and I really didn't know what I was doing and made a lot of mistakes! Once the middle was completed I decided to surround it with more dude ranch blocks and wanted something easy, so I used the half square triangle stars and the square in a square blocks. This project made me realize what a challenge piecing is because if you were able to look closely you would see the tips of the stars are cut off-BUT the middle star looks great!
