Design Source - Description | After finding a wonderful fat quarter pack of Moda's Dude Ranch fabric which has a loose weave, but awesome stripes that reminded me of growing up in New Mexico I drafted the middle star on graph paper and had the idea to fill in around the star with many different black fabrics. This was my first attempt at paper piecing and I really didn't know what I was doing and made a lot of mistakes! Once the middle was completed I decided to surround it with more dude ranch blocks and wanted something easy, so I used the half square triangle stars and the square in a square blocks. This project made me realize what a challenge piecing is because if you were able to look closely you would see the tips of the stars are cut off-BUT the middle star looks great! |
