My Hobby Quilter arrived safe and sound and is on the frame. I will have a chance to play with it later but the builders are putting in a new window in my work room at the moment.

I have been going to several quilt retreats and been working on getting the blocks together for 3 of my UFos... Thinking about doing pieced and mitering corners on the borders which will be new for me.

I have been invited to a 3 INCH 9 PATCH BLOCK EXCHANGE... We exchange at the Xmas party for the group. I have been making 9 patches over the weekend... a lot harder than I thought it would be. But I do think I have it down to a science.

From a 5 inch strip set I can get 3 patches each... mix and match them to make the 4 & 5 configuration. Only problem is a am using fabric from my scrap stash and I will have a hard time giving up my blocks...... Each patch seems to have a happy memory attached to it. These tiny blocks are a challenge to make. I have also been making SCRAPPY blocks from one & 1/2 inch patches. No rhyme or reason as to how to make the patches... I do keep my lights and darks in separate bags... just reach in a get one.

I am going to use my 9 patch blocks in the quilt pattern I saw in McCall's Quick Quilt magazine... I think it was called Sky Lights. It is made of stacked nine patches with nine patches falling out of a blue sky setting... The little blocks just tumble around.

I have been collecting 9 patch patterns since I decided to participate in the exchange. Making these little patches is taking over my life.

Thank you, lovely Ladies all!! Hope you bought lots of good stuff Cheryl!!

Today I did some more to the binding on the tree skirt for daughter and then visited a friend with a broken foot. I could have sold that tree skirt at least ten times already!! But it's for my little girl and not for sale. :D

Now the evening telly is on I will retire to my eyrie and sew whilst hubby watches whatever is on through his closed eyelids!!

Great news Amoret.
I finished binding a quilt I started in 2002. I am going to continue finishing up as many UFO I can. I have been stitching a stitch at a time on a quilt that my friends grandmother started for her. It is a grand mothers flower garden quilt.

Anyway, I have found inspiration to start my September Journal Quilt and I also found a couple of quilt kits in a sale so I snaffled them and will do them for the 2012 Olympic Quilt appeal.

finished a small haning with grapes on it for the door. It was a bought pattern that I started before other things with deadlines got in the way. Came out quite pretty and really easy to make. Take a pic. later and post it.

Now I need to plan a banner for a girl who fought brain tumors and the whole family participates in walk-a-thons. Grandma wants a banner to wave at the finish line. the last W-A-TH raised 79,000.00 for the Jimmy fund. Way to go Kira.

First day of our 5th Quilt Show We had over 100 attendee which may not sound like much but it is 3x as many as we had last year on Friday. We are a small rural community and we do not get a lot of people come out this way. We are really pleased. I am doing demonstrations of a string quilt block and a MILE A MINUTE patch.

I finished machine quilting a quilt my daughter made. I have more quilting to do then I have time to do it.... don't you just love it.
