TOPIC: September's Weeping Lilies

Same here, printed out the pattern, but that's all. Had some more urgent projects going. But it's next on the list!

I just printed out the pattern and have tentative fabrics chosen...but I have just cut over 30 strips for a Kool Kaleidoscope and am anxious to get to that. What a dilemma.

I tried very hard yesterday NOT to start on my BOM!! I printed & got everything together (had already gotten close on fabric choices) so I can carry it with me, but I figured since I was home I'd better concentrate on machine-things.
But then George wanted to go for a swim, so I just HAD TO carry that little bag right out with me while I Life-guarded :D Again, the sacrifices we make...

That's funny, Sandy! At least you will have a very portable project for a while!! You can baste those circles anywhere! :D

Sue, you are such a tease! I wish I could get to Houston and meet up with all my cyber friends  . But alas, I must stay put and work, so that I can pay for my new Janome 11000. It hasn't come in yet, and I am actually saying prayers that UPS has safe trips so that it will come in today  !

Love this month's block! The vase fabric choice is the hardest thing for me!

You all crack me up! I just looked in Duffy's gallery of pictures - have you seen her "when Ricky Tims meets Laura Wasilowski" quilt? It's really pretty but it's also REALLY funny! And then I glanced at the forum and I just had to laugh - you all are worrying about this and that, and yet the results I keep seeing are soooo wonderful! Quilters are such a fun bunch, right?!

I hope to meet as many of you as I can at the Houston quilt show -- I'll be in the TQS booth giving my feet a rest every once in a while, and I plan on doing a simple applique demonstration while there. I just confirmed with Lilo: my Bouquet quilt will be hanging in the TQS booth. And guess what? The TQS Quilt Shoppe will have a booth, too... and the NEW block of the month will be hanging in their booth! The Shoppe is busy packing up fabric kits that contain fabrics identical to those that I used in the upcoming quilt. No sneak peaks are available yet... so get busy and finish your Bouquets - January will be here before you know it! Woo hoo!

I thought maybe Bridget might see my printer problem and respond - even though this is not a printer forum. Wink

FYI -- PRINTER PROBLEM RESOLVED !!!!!!!!!

 I'm glad you beat me to it! That's a new problem I've never heard of!

I'll be picking my fabrics tomorrow as well and am looking forward to seeing everyone's choices too!

I just printed the pattern and will wait until tomorrow, when lighting is better, to pick my fabrics. This does look like a pretty easy one. I'm hoping to find something great for the center of the vase this time :)

I am NOT going to stress here. I've decided to not even print the September block until August is done. I only have the hand embroidery and french knots (or beads) to finish which I will do next weekend at a mini quilt retreat with friends. Until then, I will enjoy viewing all the finished blocks of the over-achievers.....I say that with a <giggle>.

That's a good tip, Margo. When this block is finished, making at least the circles would get things started for next month.

I think that anyone who wants to get a jump on the October block can do like Linda and get the berries ready. It looks like there are 47 large berries and 14 small ones. I don't think the center of the heart-shaped flowers are berries, but having 61 done will help! There is also a background star on the October block. If you go to the photo of Sue's entire quilt and click on it, you will get a larger version to see what parts of the star will be showing. I'll probably just go ahead and applique all of the star parts.

But....first things first....today is only the first day of September! Let's get some of these blocks posted!! :D

I did the berries early for the October block. That should speed things up!
