Kris, love your colors! The awesome thing about when people are "time-challenged" is that we get to revisit these great blocks again!

Block of the month August 09 Nov 2008 16:53 #28160

Well, it's fnally finished and posted and Sept. is underway........this one is traced and the star is finished.......it only takes a blink to be behind again......hopefully I'll be caught up by the Dec. block........is that wishful thinking or what? :)

Denise, great quilt! My step daughter is getting married in December, and your dress is the kind that I am looking for. Bright red or black (the mother of the bride will probably be wearing a western shirt, slacks, and boots  )!

Yes my daughter was very specific, she didn't want me wearing an ugly blue chiffon thing. Well I certainly didn't and my DH Mark, always looks super. It does take me a while to get to that point. :)

thanks

Well it seems that every time I was at the booth in Houston it was the "wrong" time. Sorry I didn't get to meet a lot of you. I did see a few people with tags on and I did introduce myself. That was very nice.

So the wedding is done, the quilt is done and now I have to get caught up on the 2008 BOM since I have already purchased the fabric for the 2009 BOM. YIKES!

Anyway, there is a picture of me and DH in front of my DD's quilt, I just posted it in my profile.

Have a good one, it's nice to be back!

I agree, I had no idea but then again,I'm not here often enough to see those things. THAT will have to change.

I found some old pictures of quilts I had done so I'll add them to the gallery.

Two more BOM participants have been put "on the map!"

Our newest members listed are lzwhitehead and tantequilts. Welcome!

I will update the map on the first of each month if there are still people wanting to let us know they're out there. You can either post on the forum or send a private email to either Margo or myself.

Here is a link to the most current map....

That's NOT "cheating"!!! It's a great technique and made a wonderful block center! GOOD JOB!

Well I did "cheat" a bit. My husband is a sign person who has a fancy computer generated sign program. I gave him the wording, and told him basically what I wanted and the area it was to cover poof he emailed me the center way better than I had envisioned it.

I then ironed freezer paper to the back of the center, put his printout on the small light table I have, taped the block on top and traced it with a permanent marker. We are huge Disney fans and that is my favorite song.

My sons GF did one with Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog and that has some wording from Muppet Vision 3D at the Disney Studios.

Her flower girl is 6 and did her version of her dress, some hearts and Mickey heads. So cute and just what a fearless 1st grader would do.

I'll post more pictures in my profile when I have a moment.

Thanks for the heads up about the 1PM meeting place.

Denise, the block you finished is wonderful! How did you do the text? Computer? Free-hand?? It looks great!
When you get to Houston, check in at the TQS booth about 1:00 each day if you can. See you there!
Good luck with the wedding festivities!

I am not done July, I haven't started August or Sept. Woe is me. My daughter is getting married in October and we just had her shower. Here is a picture of her quilt block that I made her. All the people that attended her shower got to sign a block and I will in turn make it into a large quilt.

I have 20 blocks done, my goal is to finish the 30 blocks by October 8, have it quilted and hanging at the reception.

I miss you guys and working on the BOM's but the end is near and I can get back to this quilt.

Any of you going to Houston, that will be my reward, I leave the Weds after the wedding for Houston, I won't relax but at least it will be a BLAST.
