Sylvia, love your color choices! Keep plugging on, and you'll get done.

Kris, I love your little embroidered flowers rather than the berries! Great job!

Fi, Your blocks are great! I LOVE your butterfly quilt! OOOOH! I am tempted to get that pattern and give it a whirl!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, we experienced 4" of inch from Ike!

I have my May and June blocks posted and have just started on July. I thought I'd get more done while we were away with our RV for a few weeks, but that didn't happen. If other projects don't get in the way maybe I'll catch up sooner rather than later.

July block posted 14 Sep 2008 20:28 #26061

Well, I finally got back to my BOM posted on my site, and now am only 2 blocks behind. I thought the July block was very difficult, for me at least. Of course I tried a new Bernina applique foot, made a horrible mess, had to unstitch about a dozen leaves then go back and do them again. It looks OK, and boy do I love the gallopping horse.....now on to Aug. and Sept.......Have missed you all......

I finally posted January and February BOM and I'm working on March. I'll catch up some time in the near future. Things are finally on their way to normal....whatever 'normal' means :-)

I haven't spent much time in the forum area but I'll try joining in with the BOM group. I'm a month behind in my block making but should catch up in August. Of course, that's if it would cool off a bit. The sun sets on the windows in my sewing room; almost too warm in there these days. I'm expecting a portable cooler by next week and should be able to spend more time working on my BOMs.

Count me as one of the missing also. July was a whirlwind of activity. I have my block fused and about 80% complete. So sad that I didn't finish before the August 1st new block but alas, I am still in training for the Disney 1/2 marathon and logged 80 miles of powerwalking in the month of July so that does take up some of my time along with a full time job. THEN I had to make a bag that I saw in a gift shop. It was $85 and I knew I could do it for almost a 10th of that - the challenge was too great so that's done, will post a picture when I take a shot of the July block.

Figure I'm half way in the process, I've printed out the Aug bock to start this weekend if I get July done.

Have a good weekend all. will check in now and then.

Hi Everyone! Count me in the BOM club. I haven't posted in a while. Been busy with family visiting but now I'm back to doing the BOMs. I'm doing fusible raw edge applique. I plan to blanket stitch around it all. Jan - July are all fused but not yet stitched around. I bought the kit but am also using some of my own fabrics. I've gotten so much help and ideas from looking at all your postings. Thanks everyone for sharing! I will try to post updated photos soon.

Four is good! Don't beat yourself up, there are no quilt police here! (only the BOM squad...) It is important to enjoy the journey, not impatiently anticipate the finished product. There are times you just need to put the project aside for awhile. But I think it's a good idea to keep checking on the Forum and see what everyone is doing. You might just get the inspiration you need to pick it up again.
