Gosh, that's a tidy sum.

I won with my first ticket, a lovely Shibori piece made by a lady from Region 13.

The whole show was fantastic, as usual. Meeting Lynn was lovely.

For anyone who did go to the FOQ and was patient enough to wait in the Little Gems queue I thought you might like to know that we raised £9,700 for the new Quilt Museum and Gallery at York. :D

We're back. She's out of hospital, very swollen and grumpy. The surgeon said she had a very large cyst on the appendix and was surprised she lasted this long with it. Considering we were in Spain a couple of weeks ago and then she was on top of Scarfell Pike the week after, I'm glad she hung on!!

The visiting hours were very restrictive so OH and I had to find something to do yesterday morning. Good job there was Quilters Haven just outside Ipswich in Wickham Market. What a fabulous shop!! OH parked right out side, for an hour, and I pootled around and bought lots of bits. I'd certainly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Link http://www.quilters-haven.co.uk/ and I'll add it to the other page too. The ladies there had been up to FoQ on Thursday and said it was wonderful. Oh well. Thanks for the dates for next year Ali!!

I hope your daughter's recovering well Amo, and you too, what a shock, but as you say if it is fixed, she can now concentrate on getting back to full strength. Crohn's is an awful ongoing disease, my SIL suffers badly, so you should be very relieved it wasn't that.

Festival is 19-22 August 2010 - get those dates in your diaries now ladies

Dear Amanda
Glad daughter doing well, will keep our fingers crossed. Met Lorchen and Della today at FoQ, didn't get to meet anyone else though, still, it was heaving so you had a hard job seeing someone right next to you!!! Hope to catch up with you soon when things get better.
Best wishes
Lynn

I'm glad your daughter's surgery went well. One operation would be preferrable to me rather than a disease. Not a daft idea. I hope she contnues to recover well. Karen

Thank you ladies. She came out of theater at 01.30 and she had a perforated abdomen and they did take her appendix out. Hopefully all will be well now, she's reacting well post op. We are going up this morning so will hopefully find out more.

Seeing as they were testing her for Crohns disease and colitis, I know it sounds daft, but I'm really relieved it was operable.

Well daughter was taken back to A&E this afternoon and they've admitted her. She's under the knife later tonight or tomorrow am for an explore. Hopefully it's just appendicitis and it will be over and done with. We're leaving for Ipswich first thing in the morning. :(

I wish her - and you - well.

Welcome Teresa, I've also enjoyed reading through your blog. What are you planning to do with the green fabrics? I love green 8) :D :D

Thanks Ali - the green fabrics are for a zig zag quilt for my daughter...I offered her the choice of pinwheels or zig zags and she went for zig zags (I was hoping for pinwheels, lol!). It's all sewn up into 1/2 square triangles at the moment, just need to get going and sew it into rows. We're off on holiday on Saturday so it'll have to wait a little longer unfortunately.

I received my fabric for the BOM quilt this morning - it's really lovely and I'm itching to play with it but will wait until the children are back at school.

I hope all those going to the FofQ have a lovely time, I have wanted to go for ages now but we always seem to book our holiday at the same time that it's on.
