I'm not sure about all these worms. I don't like them, nor their bigger version.... snakes.

Anyway, look what I got!

Isn't it pretty! The wood is Coco Bolo. Let's hope it doesn't get worms!

It is made by Scott Lincoln in Clinton Washington. He is a veteran that is retired and makes pens to sell as well as give to veterans. His wife Cindy is a quilter and makes Quilts of Valor for veterans. www.s-c-handmade.com or www.finewoodpens.com

Take care,

Would that be the 'Greater Dorset Woodworm'?
When I was a child and my gran lived in Dorset, my parents visited lots of the churches and saw lots of woodworm holes, in some churches the holes had even spread to the stonework too! so they decided that there must be the 'Greater Dorset Woodworm' that ate into stone as well as wood :P (I guess I was on some of those trips but I was very small at the time, but I do have memories of going past churches with ravages to the stonework, which my parents ascribed to these pests) Sometimes you can still find out breaks in other parts of the country too

Wendy are you having a senior moment ...( Interlectual malfunction)
it's Lakeland not Iceland.....I don't think the frozen food would do it much good.
I think I'm having trouble with my worms as I can't spell interlectual ..."old age, dry rot and woodworm." it's a never ending saga.
Happy days
Have a nice weekend
Anne

I just use a used fabric softener sheet with the iron hot. I have not had to scrub and it doesn't scratch or ruin the surface of my iron.

Hi ! Sue.....I haven't used Magic Sponge much...$$$...I've used Dritz iron cleaner, too. But the
"Bon Ami" cleanser....says on the container it is calcium carbonate....and a crocheted scrubbie..
because it is all non-scratch...and that darned elbow grease  Well...usually takes care of
it. Soaking overnite on a wet rag does help..I just don't remember to do it !! :side:

Wendy....
As for the oven cleaner...Well...most say not to use on Al. but I didn't read !! ...it might as well have
dissolved it....totally etched and pitted the sole !! That's when I went to old heavy dry irons !! I have a
Small Rowenta.now...but like most, it sputters and spits and leaked from the water res. when it
was nearly new ! So when it is light color or critical I switch out to a vintage one.

I've never had any luck with Magic Erasers working on irons, and they are expensive. (They work great on cleaning spots off painted walls, and for cleaning bathrooms: get the generic kind from Amazon, if possible, and buy in bulk).

Rowenta iron cleaner is a terrific product, too.

Did it dissolve the aluminium? I've got visions of you with just a handle in your hand.

Lois your tips sound far more attractive than elbow grease :) I'm going to google Magic Eraser sounds like a 'must have'
