Re: CHAPTER 2 - SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES (cont' 20 Feb 2011 14:56 #58393

Dear Sisters & Brothers of the Traveling HST;

I can’t believe it! I cut my last HST today, number 700! And to think the post office is closed tomorrow! Arg-g-g! Oh well, I now have HST’s for everyone, Queensland, BrinkofNorway and ya’ll. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for quilts! I have just never had so much fun as with all you ladies in doing a project before. I will definitely have to do another exchange in the future! Thank you all again for your patience, guidance and directions : )

Sandy, like alot of other people I spend way too long on this website every day checking the daily blog, members blog, quilt gallery, forum, watching shows. :roll: :roll: THere is just so much here. This year is the first time I have started the TQS Block of the month and I check the forum for that to see other peoples progress and get help and encouragement with mine. This website has changed my quilting and my life, without any exageration. I know many people who say the same. :D :D :D

Sandra there are many other topics right here on the forum that you can participate in!

If you need help navigating the TQS forum you will find some helpful tips here: forum/forum-questions-and-suggestions/4275-tips-for-using-the-tqs-forum

So....don't stop visiting after this exchange is finished! Besides that, you will want to check back to see all the FINISHED SoTTT projects, and that may take a while!! :D

If you feel the need for another exchange to keep you involved, you are welcome to start another one yourself! If you volunteer to do the sorting, you can make up the rules you want everyone to abide by!

Thanks Pam, great talking with you today and seeing you was even better :-) modern technology is so wonderful. What are we gonna do when this swap is over and we do not check the email everyday? gonna feel like something is missing.

my HSTs are done. So. I am sending a bag with 137 of them sorted by color in baggies that are not sealed. My name and screen name and number of squares are to go on each baggie. What do I do about the extras for the other ladies? Should I just put several in to another baggie and label them " for brink and others"? Is this all correct?
This was fun to do, they go very quickly and I will enjoy making my Tree of Life. Thanks Sandy in NY

Well, got all the squares sewn, labeled and went to the basement to cut them Thursday evening only to find out my sump pump had decided to go on vacation while all the snow was melting! Have been nursing it along for several years with duct tape, chop sticks, rubberbands and constant adjustments, but this time it had somehow come disconnected from the output pipe!! So, my 11 yo and I had to get it reconnected and have spent the last 3 days trying to dry the basement floor-couldn't get to my cutting area and my sewing machine without getting wet feet! So, today I bought a new pump and we will install it tomorrow. Was going to wait for the tax return, but nature has made it jump line! But, now can get back to the cutting area and will get them done and ready to mail. May keep them until after my guild meeting so I can show them something else I do with all the scraps I pick up off the donation table! (Is very nice to have dry feet and did not loose anything as I had already elevated most things due to the pump's going out when I would be asleep.)
Am having so much fun reading the notes from everyone. I do feel for you gals with the negative temperatures, we were there a couple of weeks ago and I basically hibernated! Today was sunny and in the hi 40's, and just a afew piles of dirty snow left! (And we are in NE Indiana-almost into Ohio and Michigan.) So, it is moving north! :D

Glad you didn't lose anything! But I'm sure it was a pain all the same.
I mailed my HSTs off today. They sure are addictive.

Dear Brink of Norway;
Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting you as many Sister’s of the THST; I have never met a quilter I haven’t enjoyed. It is my pleasure to make some HST’s for you; I just hope you like them and can use them. The thanks will be to make yourself a quilt, use it and enjoy it. I hope you have a quilt book you put photos of all the quilts you have made along with a little story about them and can include the story about this one as well. "A little love and care to come with each square”, oops their HST’s oh well, you get the point! Can’t wait to see what it looks like!

Just knowing we are making you happy is all the thanks we need! Norway is so beautiful. I can't wait to get back there this summer. My profile pic is of me in Norway last summer.

SoTTTs Member,

I'd like to suggest :wink: that rather than dropping your package into a mailbox, you take it to your local post office to post & mail. At that time you can talk with the postal clerk about what postage is needed for your return envelope.

Thanks,
Debbie
