"Afternoon Delight" was one of Sue Garman's favorite patterns. This wonderfully scrappy quilt is truly a delight to make with its combination of simple appliqué and Double Nine-Patch blocks and modified Shoo Fly blocks. Each month you will work on pieced and appliquéd blocks, and in the final month, you will assemble the blocks and add the outer border. The finished quilt measures approximately 86 1/2" inches square.
Let's use this Topic "Afernoon Delight Show and Tell" as a place to show off your beautiful blocks. That way, you know where to come to see what everyone is doing.
The topics that apply to each month are a good place to ask questions or make suggestions for each block.
AND when you post your photos to Social Media, like Instagram, Facebook, etc., use either of these hash tags so everyone there will be able to find our wonderful work:
pcquilterfl, What a great looking Afternoon Delight quilt. And to do it before it became BOM for TQS. Glad the BOM gave you the initiative to finish
the piecing. Looks great without an border. Looks like you just did the triangles along the sides in background fabric. Have you decided how you are going to quilt it?
Great job, love the way it looks. HelenW

SHOW AND TELL--Your Blocks

I started Afternoon Delight in February 2019 as a challenge from a friend. It was my first time to use the appliquik method for applique. I had a bundle of odd size pieces of Marti Michell’s Wild Rose collection as well as plenty of the white with rosebuds to use for the background. Being safe at home pushed along the 9 patch blocks. After testing several different border ideas I’ve decided to just finish it off and use a scrappy binding.

Thank you for your kind words I'm just doing a deep dive into bits and pieces of reproduction fabrics collected over the years to look for fussy-cuts that would work in the blocks. Applique = pleasant quiet time for me.

Barbara, You outdid yourself by pulling so many pictures of the Afternoon Delight together to show how unique a quilt
can look when made by quilters from all over the world. I know you probably had many more pictures than space on your blog.I have
totally love every minute of this Joyful Quilt Journey with you so far, and still looking forward to when all these quilts are finished.
