Join us on a new 12-month journey as we bring you bring you another spectacular quilt designed especially for TQS by Sue Garman. The 2017 TQS BOM Halo Medallion Quilt features a stunning variation of a feathered star surrounded by multiple scrappy borders. As icing on the cake she has included flying geese rings and delectable mountain blocks. Once again Sue has created a quilt for you that is sure to be a family heirloom in your home.
Everyone's blocks are beautiful! I'm waiting for my focus fabric to arrive; I ordered 3 yards of it from Connecting Threads. I'm hoping it will get here tomorrow or Tuesday so I can pull fabrics. This is the first BOM that I've attempted since Ruffled Roses, and I quit that one early on. I think I'm going to revisit it. I've downloaded every one of the BOMs, but Sue's were the ones that resonated with me.
Is there a way to ask ARJJ's computer gurus to start a show and tell for the 2017 BOM?

Your block is stunning! I can hardly wait to see more. I never would have thought of using a dark color but WOW! That is what is so cool about quilting.
Everyone does it differently.
Great choices.

Your Month 1 block is beautiful. Blue, green and a touch of yellow. My favorites.
I remember when there was a show and tell area for each BOM. It was easy to see all the pictures in one place.
Now I looked in "Member Group" but didn't see a group for 2017 BOM Halo Medallion.
We just keep sharing no matter what:) but it would be nice to have all the BOM pictures in one place.
Everyone's blocks are so pretty. The posts about the finished size is a little worrisome. I just finished the Jan. block but have yet to measure it. Guess that is the first thing I'll be doing when I get home tonight
Peg - What a lovely star. Your fabric choices are right on target. It's wonderful to see how different color choices work out.
I don't know if there is a special place to post photos. There appear to be a few ways to participate online. There is a group but I don't know how that is different than this forum!

Month 1 The Halo Star Block

I haven't done the BOM the last several years but decided I just need to make this one. This is my halo star. In the past there was a show and tell place where we all posted pics of our progress each month. Is there still a place on the site for this? I look forward to seeing everyone's color/fabric choices. I changed my mind on colors several times but am happy with how this turned out. I am working completely from my stash except for the background.
