That block is so pretty--just add a narrow border.

Well ladies I checked the printed papers and they WERE off... just a tiny bit but enough to effect the size of my block. Never had this problem before but used my husbands printer this time. Now back to mine. So I have a pretty 15 1/2" block... I can either add a narrow border/floater to make it work or just redo the block. Haven't decided yet. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I had this problem with the RAJAH quilt.

Tip about accurate template printing:

When I printed out my foundation paper pieces my printer default was in "fit to page" -- my foundation was a tad smaller than one inch -- barely noticeable but across a block it was 1/16th of an inch shorter so across nine blocks that would have been about 1/2" short (it adds up fast). Turning off "fit to page" solved the problem.

I know you said you checked your scale, but as you say it's hard to lose an entire inch with paper piecing. I would print the pattern again, cut out the sections and tape them together matching up seam lines. Then measure it. If it's not 16 inches (16 1/2 with seam allowance) then your scale is definitely off.

Yeah. it printed of the correct size.. cant see how if it is paper pieced there would be any room for error. How do I post a pic of my finished block?

Oh, that's too bad. Maybe an opportunity for a new design. Like another narrow border in a different color to bring it up to size in the next month.

On page 23 of the month one instructions I believe there is a "One inch test square" Maybe check to see if it printed off correctly.

Then when you go to print look at the options, every printer is different. On mine under Page Size & Handling I used "actual size" That measured the closest to the test square.
I have not started yet but if mine were off that's where I would start looking first.

I'm sure someone here will help with better ideas and we would love to see a picture of your beginning.

The pattern states the center block is 16" ( finished size ). I just finished mine and it is 15" ( finished size ). Misprint? Has anyone else got their block finished?
