Achieved so far this year - finally got WotRott basted and will be able to start quilting :woohoo: (once I've cleared off the big sewing table :pinch: )

Made a Bonnie Hunter Weed Whacker quilt and finished it!

Thanks, everyone. Most of the time I machine sew the binding to the front and hand sew it to the back. I figure with all of the time saved on the quick piecing methods I use and the computerized quilting, I can take a little time and do some hand sewing on the binding.

Lovely Annis it's an interesting quilting pattern. Do you do like me and machine sew the binding to the front?

I've almost finished quilting my 2nd bed runner over the weekend. It just needs the bottom half of the border. I believe it's time for a dinner break soon. I had enough of these practice blocks that I made in 2008 using Jodi Barrow's SNS method to make 3 bed runners using 14 blocks each. I liked the Hawaiian quilt design for the block, but there wasn't anything in the center so I added the small diamond because it was the only thing I could find quickly in my computer program. I'm not sure I like it that well on the front but it looks okay on the back. I settled for a design for the border as I got tired of searching for one. I believe the next ones I will be doing will have a simple meander. They will go a lot faster. Even though the computer does the sewing it is still a lot of work and a slow process to get the patterns to sew in the right location. I used premosoft polyester thread. There's a couple places on the back where the thread needs fixed, possibly user error.

I've got my thread inventory written down and plan on putting them on a spreadsheet in the computer so I can sort them by number and quickly see what I have or don't have. I have a pretty good selection of Glide but not so many of the other types. Some day I want to put my embroidery machine to use, and the Glide will work well for that.
