Yes, Eli is going to be a big brother. With Beccah having lost Isabel and then the little one after that we were thrilled to have Eli but Beccah would really like to have a girl. Can't take the place of Izzy but she would like to balance out some of that testosterone at her house. We were so stunned about it being twins because we don't have any twins in the family. The doctor told her that over the age of 30 women often drop more than one egg. So, the ultrasound shows two distinct little ones, both in their own little "sac". Next doctor's appointment is next week and then on the 10th she has her next ultrasound. She is extremely tired and sick. She didn't want everyone to know because she was fearful of losing them. My thought is--you need all the prayer you can get--so please pray that mommy and babies will be healthy and strong and that our Eli will be able to cope once the attention is moved to the constant care of twins. Thank you ladies. Oops, forgot--they are due at the beginning of September but Beccah thinks the doctor will probably take them in late August.

Annis they're beautiful how great for your guests. Love the designs and colours.

Congratulations Ritzy. My friend is carrying twins due in May, I share your joy and anxiety for them. I'm going to finish Laura Nownes quilt as a play mat and have been busy knitting in duplicate. When are yours due?

Thanks, everyone. That is the last of the bed runners that were inspired by blocks or fabric I already had. I have several more to make from new fabric purchased last year that was originally going to be used for twin size quilts. There will be a lot of that fabric leftover which I plan to use if I ever get to make the step-by-step videos for my piecing techniques. Then I will have lots of new blocks to work with at some future date.

I agree with Rita, Terrie. You need to make quilts with the fabric you have and spend less time on the computer "window shopping". That being said, I just finished shopping for a lot of red and white fabrics for my next group of projects. It took a lot of time to wash and iron these but they're now ready for me to get started just as soon as I find the time.

Ritzy, how exciting about the 2 babies! I don't think the statues will keep the squirrels away, as we obviously have plenty at our city home. Our country home has lots of deer and I rarely see squirrels there, but occasionally see a skunk at night when driving from building to building.

Wow Annis. Would you come pick colors for my next quilt? You really have an eye for color.

Wow! Ritzy, that is wonderful news! How exciting!

Annis, your quilts are beautiful. You make such luscious fabric choices.

I don't think we have squirrels here. I think the coyotes would eat them. But we do have deer. My husband is putting in the garden and building a deer fence so that we can eat what we plant!

Terrie, you crack me up!

Annis--your retreat visitors are going to love all the personal touches you are putting into the retreat rooms. How special to walk in and see all those beautiful bed runners! Well done.

I wonder if we got some of those squirrel statutes if the real squirrels would leave the yard (and my bird feeders)?

I am in the process of making two quilts using my stash and let me tell you--I won't feel guilty when I am able to do some replacing. OH! Maybe I should tell you why I am making two quilts--the ultrasound showed two babies! Prayers please.

News Year's Resolution update: Feb 27, 2015. 2 months into the year 2015: So far, I have not bought any new fabric.

I have purchased thread, templates, buttons, Velcro, fusible interfacing, and plan to soon buy batting, but no fabric. I have to admit, though, that I have have been found to 'practice' shopping on line and filling my cart with various delicious fabric goodies, but never have clicked. 'purchase complete'. I just don't want to loose my touch, although I know it is playing with fire! .

You crack me up!!

Annis, Your work is so colorful. Love it!
