One of the highlights of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show was the Cherrywood Van Gogh Exhibit.  Each year for the last four years, Cherrywood Fabrics has issued a challenge to any quilter who is game, to create a quilt based on the year's theme.  As a quilter you must purchase a bundle of the chosen fabrics and create a quilt that is 20 x 20 inches. At least 75% of the quilt must include the chosen fabric bundle but the remaining fabrics can include other colors as long as they are Cherrywood Fabrics.  Three jurors studied all the entries...and, I can't imagine how difficult their job must have been!!! There were a total of 465 entries!  With this overwhelming response they decided to create 2 traveling shows. The first was the French Van Gogh exhibit with 120 quilts and the second is the Dutch Van Gogh with 80 quilts.  The French Van Gogh exhibit was displayed at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and was an overwhelming hit!!!  After leaving Sisters it was heading to France where it will be displayed for 2 months at the BOHIN Factory.

Donna, the show coordinator, is displaying the Van Gogh Fabric pack.

Although not ribbon winners...I had to show you my favorites...

I hope you are inspired by these wonderful pieces of art and are as excited about the new exhibit...PRINCE!!!

It’s amazing how something as small as a needle can make such a huge impact on your sewing project! The right needle for your sewing project can create perfectly even and beautifully made stitches. The wrong needle (even a worn or damaged needle) can create all kinds of headaches—like skipped stitches, crooked stitches, frayed and broken threads, and holes or tears in your fabric. So how do you make sure you are choosing the right needle for the sewing project you’re making? And how would you know if the needle is worn or damaged? Head one over to WeAllSew.com to find out all about sewing machine needles, and be sure to download their free BERNINA PDF Needle Brochure as a handy reference.
