Trailride by Charlotte Warr Andersen

18.5” x 24” (47cm x 61cm)

Made in 2003

Ricky won Trailride by Charlotte Warr Andersen at a silent auction. It was made for the Miniature Auction benefitting the International Quilt Association. The silent auction is held each year at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. Benefit auctions at shows, guilds, and museums are great places to add to your own quilt collection. It’s a win-win situation. You win a quilt and the organization gets much needed funding.

Trailride features hand appliqué and machine quilting.

Charlotte joined Georgia Bonesteel at a Dude Ranch Quilt Retreat and invited Ricky and Alex in Show 1209--

Love these miniature quilts? Why not participate in the International Miniature Quilt Exchange (IMQE) here at TQS? The purpose of the IMQE is to promote quilting across borders and cultures. The project allows two-member teams to communicate and connect with each other. Teams will then have the opportunity to participate in a juried exhibition which will premiere at the International Quilt Festival in Houston during the Fall of 2018.

Click here for more information regarding the IMQE.

Preparing the walls of flowers for the 2012 Dior Fashion show required an army and expert organization. Just imagine what we could do as quilters with this much help. Beautiful beyond words, but kind've wonder how strong the fragrance was...

Patricia Belyea at Okan Arts wanted to make a baby quilt featuring the letter H in honor of the intended recipient. We think this method of improv might be great using any letter to make your quilt. See what she did to create the quilt and how she made it personal.

It's Shark Week! So we thought we'd put Rob Appell's Shark Applicutter Rotary Cutter on sale. This smaller rotary cutter handles curves like a..."shark." Watch Alex and Rob talk about it.

Buy the cutter by itself or get an extra 10% off if you buy the Combo which includes the cutter and a blade replacement pack.

Hurry, last time we sold out immediately...don't let the shark swim away!

Crossing borders and cultures with quilts around the globe.

TheQuiltShow.com is excited about the International Miniature Quilt Exchange Project and the partnerships we are creating. We have 265 IMQE Partners – 35 Partners away from our goal of 300 partners. We still have over 9 United States quilters waiting for International partners.

Internationally, Italy continues to lead with 50 Quilters, but the United Kingdom is close behind at 47 Quilters. Germany continues with 44 Quilters and Canada now has 43. There are 26 Aussies and 4 Kiwis. We also have Lenea from Finland, north of the Arctic Circle, and Ljiljana from Serbia. Ljiljana, a TQS member for many years, tells us TQS has been her main source of inspiration.

TQS has shared stories about Quilts from all over the United States:

What do these stories have in common? IMQE is missing quilters from Hawaii, West Virginia and Alaska! These states have amazing quilting stories to share with our International Quilters. We have 47 of our 50 states represented. So let’s hear from quilters in Hawaii, West Virginia and Alaska.

WHAT WILL YOU DISCOVER WHEN YOU JOIN IMQE? You won’t know until you join! Let’s break records with this exchange!

SallyQuilter wrote: It's amazing how many similarities we have in common and proves that quilters really are all cut from the same cloth no matter the distance between us....

Quilters have until March 2018 to complete their miniature quilts. Get all the details here.

1 International Quilter + 1 United States Quilter + A Passion for Quilting
