Best Wall Hand Workmanship Award to a Brazilian Quilt

Lucia Souza of Brazil Won the Best Wall Hand Workmanship Award at Paducah 2017 for her quilt Agua Clara (Clear Water), 30" x 40". There is a lot to love in this quilt. Take a look at the wonderful Hand Appliqué, Hand Embroidery, and Hand Quilting. Also, you should look at the color combinations.

Handwork is alive and well!! It's so nice to see the judges have recognized it for the masterful skill that went into creating this piece! This piece is magnificent!! I love doing handwork, but my work doesn't even begin to compare to this fabulous piece. I just wonder - how long did it take to stitch it? It is a great piece of art and thanks to the artist who shared it!!! I am inspired!!!
