Ricky's space in 2012
Is your quilting space out of control? Not getting much sewing in because most of your time is spent searching and setting up? Do you dream of a creative place that is both inspirational AND functional without spending a bundle? It's 2016 and TQS is here to help get you in shape.
For 52 weeks starting on January 11, we will share ideas and solutions to help you get back to the fun of quilting.
However, before real organization can take place, YOU need to tame that beast of a space! So next week,
get ready to put on some comfy clothes, gather your favorite tunes and set aside a few hours to start our work first work-out session.
Don't fret, don't overplan, and don't burn out in the first week. Relax, we can do this together.
Need some inspiration? Check out Ricky's studio and his tips for keeping it all under control.
You might find some ideas you'll want to incorporate into your own sewing space.
Sherry100 - I love you thinking - I may be a long lost Aussie cousin.
I had my husband build the garage (that had never been used for a garage) in .He had drawers, schelves etc installed so I have the whole garage as a Sewiing/Craft room and there is a lock on the inside so grans cannot get in.Unless I let them.
AND guess waht? I too have 4 computers and printer etc. I just love my ROOM and spend a lot of time in there. I will be sending pictures asap .https://thequi ltshow.com/comp onents/com_jcom ments/images/sm ilies//rolleyes .gif
I'm in the same position so what I've started doing is, I got an Epson DS-510 document scanner and have been going through my quilting/sewing magazines, pulling out the articles that I've saved them for or whatever else hits me. I'll scan them and save them to my Evernote account. The scanner does auto-duplex so you get both sides scanned in one pass & you can set up macros to save them different places like Evernote. Then I have access to them no matter where I am.And if you're as nit-picky as I am, you can take the finished scan into Adobe Acrobat & remove the ads. Acrobat Reader doesn't do this, I don't think.
At 5'-3" I can't quilt on the extended platform that puts the bed of the machine at 33" H.
Ricky's video makes me want to build a second story on my garage for a quilt room. Not that I can. But I can dream!
