I could not quilt without my rotary cutter. When my youngest son was in Kindergarten, I helped in his classroom and joked with the teacher that By the time the year was up I would be able to cut a circle using the paper cutter. I carried this over into quilting and I do a pretty good job with circles!

I ONLY USE SCISSORS TO TRIM EMBROIDERY OR SOMETHING SMALL, OTHERWISE I USE MY ROTARY CUTTER

It depends on what I am cutting. I use my rotary cutter and a ruler for straight cuts, scissors for curves and small fiddly cuts, If I just want to take a yard or so off a long piece of fabric I usually rip it so I get the straight of the grain.

My answer, scissors, is made because I spend the most time doing hand applique

What I actually use the most is my ruler cutter. I use the rotary cutter to cut or trim smaller pieces.
