Which Kind of Quilter are you? Vote below.

Last week we asked how you stored your stash. This week we want to know how you design your quilts. Which kind of quilter are you? Are you a multi-project person (or UFO creator)? OR, do you finish one project at a time and move on to the next one?

I always have UFOs around; it's genetic, I just finished having a top quilted that was made by one of my great grandmothers; so it may be between 60 and 100 years old now. Turned out nice! The covid porject is to clear out some UFOs and I have now completed 5 UFOs and one new top (slipped in just because).

I have several going at once, hand quilting, appliq ue, paper piecing, yoyo's and embroidery. For when ever the mood strikes to do any of them. I also quilt for others.

I also have more than 1 project going at the same time but only have one on the design wall. Have several tops finished before they are quilted. Some I will quilt, some go to longarm quilter. So I guess you can say I tend to have UFO's.

While I might only be sewing one project at a time I typically have at least two others cut and queued up. My "breaks" come in the form of switching the type of making I'm doing e.g., sewing a bag in between quilt projects or painting fabric or stitching up decor for the eternal home remodel I can't seem to get done ;D

I always have several projects going at one time. I design as I go and when I'm not sure what to do next, I switch to another project and come back when I figure it out. Trying to force a solution on a timeline tends to result in a real mess resulting in a "UFO" rather than a "PIP" ( piece in progress).

I actually have two design boards going at all times. One for ideas and one for the quilt that I'm working on at the time.

I always have multiple projects going on. Right now I have one on the design wall, one on the long arm, one I'm appliquing on, one I just finished appliquing and will start hand quilting next week, and the BOM Afternoon Delight that I'm only 1 month behind on. I'm never bored and I almost always finish my projects. I have very few UFOs.

I have many projects going at one time, but my design wall can only hold one project at a time.

Love the excitement of starting new projects. I need to discipline myself to finish.

What's your definition of 'finished'?
I finish a top before I start another but most go into the to-be-quilted UFO pile.
