While visiting AQS QuiltWeek in Phoenix, a detour was made to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ, where a spectacular exhibit was on display, Chihuly in the Garden. Dale Chihuly is credited with revolutionizing the Studio Glass movement and elevating the perception of the glass medium from craft to fine art. He is renowned for his ambitious architectural installations around the world, in historic cities, museums and gardens.
His work was also the inspiration for a major award-winning quilt at IQF Houston 2013.
