Mom Said - I saw Sue's Mama Said quilt on TQS episode featuring her and loved it! I went on her website and bought her patterns and have been working on this quilt for 20 months. I just finished today! I changed the top to Mom Said because no one is called Mama in our house :) It is hand appliqued and machine quilted. I used the boy and the girl patterns. Thanks for a great pattern Sue!

Top Gun - My brother-in-law sent me several photos of a hummingbird and suggested I might like to use one of them for an art quilt. I had an opportunity to take a class with David Taylor at the 2010 NC Quilt Symposium, where I was able to get my line drawing done and learn a lot about his hand applique technique for doing pictoral quilts. I had done all my previous art quilts using fusible and machine applique. I really enjoyed the new method.
