joannquilts Top Gun - My brother-in-law sent me several photos of a hummingbird and suggested I might like to use one of them for an art quilt. I had an opportunity to take a class with David Taylor at the 2010 NC Quilt Symposium, where I was able to get my line drawing done and learn a lot about his hand applique technique for doing pictoral quilts. I had done all my previous art quilts using fusible and machine applique. I really enjoyed the new method.
