Duncan's Dogs
Name of Maker: Helen K
Duncan's Dogs - After returning from the hospital from having a brain tumor removed, I wanted to stimulate my mind so I started a youth bed size quilt for my great nephew. I found this dog pattern on the internet and started figuring out how I could make a quilt from it. It was a fun endeavour indeed! It's fused with steam a seam lite, then machine apliqued and quilted by machine.

Star table runner - Purchased as a kit from Material Girls in Orofino ID
Our Family Tree
Name of Maker: Carol Rogers
Our Family Tree - I made this Family Tree Quilt for my parents for Christmas 2010. The tree is a printed fabric panel. I used a leaf print fabric for the names on the tree by fussy cutting around each leaf and using a fabric marker to print the individual names. For the lettering, I simply wrote the message on a word document and used that as my pattern. I did the same for the name, "Ferrari". I'm was really pleased with the results.
Tree Skirt
Name of Maker: Janis Salcfas
Tree Skirt - Saw this tree skirt in a booth at the Pacific International Quilt Show and fell in love. Bought it, came home and made it...got it done just in time to put under the tree for Christmas 2010! I'm in the process of making a matching tablerunner...hopefully will get it done in time too. Sweet Tweet
Name of Maker: Lizz Ploppert
Sweet Tweet - I designed this small wall hanging to teach a class on freezer paper applique. Since I bordered it with squares I thought quilted circles inside worked pretty well.
Simply Glowing
Name of Maker: Jayardi
Simply Glowing - Only GREEN fabrics were used. Quite a few were donated by friends to help get a wide variety. There are over 300 different fabrics. Then it took over a month to organize them all into value order. The border is all individually hand cut leaves from pre-printed leaf fabrics then raw edge appliqued, based on a photo I saw of the blended borders technique. Free motion quilted on my Sapphire echoing the border and and a few leaf motifs. Which gives it the feel of swirling leaves.
Christmas Memories
Name of Maker: Ruth Hawley
Christmas Memories - This quilt is machine appliqued using raw edge fusible and stitched by a machine blanket stitch. I replaced a couple of the original blocks to reflect my own memories of Christmas
Prospect Park
Name of Maker: Jean Ann Wright
Prospect Park - The Prospect Park collection by Benartex has 3 focus fabrics to incorporate into a design. I decided to make simple columns with a pieced block running up and down the center and flying geese on each side, alternated with the focus fabrics. For the borders I used one focus fabric on the sides and another on the top and bottom. I learned this method of adding borders from my sister, Janet Houts, who will do anything to avoid a mitered corner. I love the borders and you will be seeing more borders like this in the future. So easy! Contact me, jeanannquilts@gmail.com if you are interested in the pattern.
