Hummingbird Dreams
Name of Maker: Rebecca H
Hummingbird Dreams - This was made for my mother who loves hummingbirds as much as I do. I took some artistic license with the flower colors because I like the background fabric so much.
Family Tree
Name of Maker: Cynthia Limberakis
Family Tree - This wall hanging was made as a challenge with my co-workers. Requirements were a Christmas theme and use of the color green. I used tracings of my family member's hands and also a foot of my grandson for the tree trunk. The hands were placed on a pieced background and then machine free hand quilted down. I want a little fraying of the edges to look like pine needles.
twirling the scraps
Name of Maker: Mary Fanslau
twirling the scraps - These two small quilts I made from the fabric scraps leftover from a sampler quilt I pieced for a double bed. These two quilts hang up to cover the bookshelves in that room. I reversed the pattern when making one of them so that they are spinning in opposite directions.
Lots of Love

Lots of Love - This is my first bed-sized quilt. I made it for my mother-in-law.
Summer skies table runner
Name of Maker: Mary Fanslau
Summer skies table runner - This table runner is a quilt as you go pattern, easy to make, and fun design! Cannot remember the name of the pattern designer, but it sure was easy and fun to make!
Fairy Splendor
Name of Maker: Mary Fanslau
Fairy Splendor - These fairies are a fabric panel I found, and just had to make into a quilt for my "Great Niece" for Christmas. The backing is a flannel alphabet fabric in peach fabric. I did free motion quilting on my domestic machine and embellished it with some crystals on the wings, as an earing, and as dew drops on the flower petals. The batting is a cotton ~ after reading on TQS about the fire danger of the poly batts!
A little boys construction dream quilt
Name of Maker: Mary Fanslau
A little boys construction dream quilt - I made this quilt for my "Great Nephew" for Christmas! He loves construction vehicles, and when I found this piece of fabric I had to make it into this little boys quilt. One image of each vehicle make up the blocks on the front. I quilted this free motion, upside down, on my domestic machine using the shapes of the vehicles as the pattern for the quilting. I also used dark blue thread in the bobbin so that the quilting would show up on the front!
Nebula
Name of Maker: Rayellen Smith
Nebula - Using some of Ricky Tim's hand dyed bits and pieces, this emerged.
The Librarian in L-space
Name of Maker: Bridget Paley
The Librarian in L-space - Sir Terry Pratchett's series of Discworld books have the orangutan librarian. I made the quilt for a charity auction and ended up buying it myself as it didn't get close to enough for a donation IMO.
Memories of Japan
Name of Maker: Donna Bays
Memories of Japan - Our niece spent some of her college time in Japan and loves Japanese designs. I used mostly Kona Bay fabrics to make a quilt for her when she got married in April 2011.
Name of Maker: Holly McDonough
"Spruce it up" - I Loved the design when I saw it in a magazine(Swirling Branches by RaNaeMerrill) and I love spruce trees so this is a combination of both!!
Name of Maker: greengables65
"Give Peas A Chance" - Now that we are trying to stick to a vegan diet, we look at Thanksgiving dinner differently. I struggled with the title. The working title was "It's All About The Sides." That then changed into "Tom's Thanksgiving Tip: Try The Turnips." Finally, my 10 year old grandson (who wouldn't eat peas if you bribed him) came up with the best one of all!

Daughter's Tranquil Inspirations
Name of Maker: Barbara
Daughter's Tranquil Inspirations - My daughter looked at me over some flowers and so I kept asking her to look at me in the same way as she walked through so that I could paint her. I used Derwent pencils and I also made paint out of the pencils and painted the surface. I appliqued flowers and then stitched the eyes and eyebrows, hair and flowers etc. I took the flowers over the edge. The eyes are quite a good likeness. I had fun.
