Sunbonnet Sue in New York
Name of Maker: Kim Bunchuck
Sunbonnet Sue in New York - This quilt was part of an exhibit at the 2001 Houston International Quilt Festival called America, From the Heart. It was auctioned for Charity along with 100 other quilts raising over $25,000 for the children of victims. A book of this exhibit was printed by C&T publishing. Called "America from the Heart", the book is now out of print. This small remembrance quilt of September 2001 depicts the way New York was at the beginning of September (top block), September 11th (middle block) and the days following when New Yorkers gathered around the “wall of prayers” (bottom). We will never forget.

Sunbonnet Sue in America
Name of Maker: Kim Bunchuck & 50 members of a swap
Sunbonnet Sue in America - This quilt is the result of a nifty-fifty swap "Sunbonnet Sue in American". It was conceived in 2001 and finished in 2006. Quilters were recruited from all 50 states to make a block to represent their state. We each made 50 blocks, swapped them, and this quilt is the results. I travel and lecture on Sunbonnet Sue quilts and this one is always a show-stopper!

Sydney's quilt
Name of Maker: George
Sydney's quilt - This is my first quilt. I made it because I love my aunt's dog, Sydney. So I made it for her. I designed it myself, and made it myself. It is machine pieced and machine quilted. I put the binding and the label on by hand. Next I am going to make a quilt for my dog, Cider.

25th Anniversary Quilt - I really like batik fabrics. This quilt was made in my 2nd quilt class and it's the 3rd quilt I made. The thread used in quilting was a magenta that worked beautifully.
Love's Blossoms
Name of Maker: Yellowdog
Love's Blossoms - A handpainted tree form on a panel was the basis of this family tree quilt. I threadpainted the entire tree and added family photos beginning with Grandparents (trunk), parents, children and then the great-grandchildren are in the borders. This was made for my Grandmother's 90th Birthday celebration!
no name-my first hand made quilt
Name of Maker: houstonjudy
no name-my first hand made quilt - these are hearts that are appliqued on pieces that are not exactly square. The inspiration is a quilt that often appeared on the set of Simply Quilts. I started it before I saw the pattern in Alex's book--can't remember name of the book. It actually has one small 'claw' hole because I have a bad cat. Otherwise it is mint condition because it has been --and will not be--any where but my wall.
Okey Doke
Name of Maker: Kris Driessen
Okey Doke - I designed this quilt in Electric Quilt while watching a TV program in which one character kept saying "Okey Doke", hence the name of the quilt:-)) The pattern is available for purchase through Quiltbug.com
Burgoyne Surrounded
Name of Maker: Carol
Burgoyne Surrounded - This is my favorite quilt. It's a king size and resides on my bed most of the time. I can't find the pattern that was in Quilter's Newletter so I can't tell you what year it was published. It had a wonderful story about the history of this quilt block and the real battle that inspired the block back in 1772. I redrew the pattern into Electric Quilt and resized to to fit my bed. It was lots of fun collecting fat quarters in red and off white. Thanks to Margo who emailed me the the Quilter's Newletter edition my pattern was made from. You'll find on pg 24 for the November 1996 Issue #287.
