un-named - This quilt was started in a class at the 2007 Glendale Quilt Show. It was a whole cloth class that used a whole piece of fabric and you added to it. This is what I saw in the blue fabric and then added the orange, which looked like coral reefs to me. I added the rest when I got home and just kept adding until it told me ...... done!

Blooming Baskets
Name of Maker: Suzy Broussard
Blooming Baskets - I made this quilt for a Challenge in the Piney Hills Quilt Guild. We were given a piece of unusual fabric and told to make a small quilt with the theme, Blooming Baskets. I wanted to use this challenge to learn new techniques. So I paperpieced the New York Beauty block, machine pieced several of the blocks and machine appliqued several blocks. I used the challenge fabric to make the two butterflies that are appliqued on two of the central basket blocks.
Happiness
Name of Maker: Pat Casassa
Happiness - Made for stepdaughter who said that the quilts of Gee's Bend attracted her attention because of my quilting, and that what the women of Gee's Bend had endured inspired her to rethink her faith, giving meaning to what at the time seemed like my expensive, meaningless hobby.
Beautiful Love Song
Name of Maker: Pat Casassa
Beautiful Love Song - This quilt was made for my wonderful mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. The pictures were machine embroidered. There is sheet music that was photocopied on cloth with the song "As Time Goes By," which my dad handwrote the arrangement for and is one of their favorite songs. Their marriage license is superimposed on the wedding picture, which is a photo printed on fabric.
Baltimore Album
Name of Maker: Sharon Murphy
Baltimore Album - Hand applique and machine pieced by Sharon Murphy. Long arm quilting by Sue Gantt. The top was made over the period of 12 months during a class in 1998-1999. Being very new to quilting and intimidated by the thought of quilting such a large item it sat on a shelf for many years. I was also torn between hand quilting and machine quilting. I finally decided I wanted it in my life as a completed project so machine quilting won out and I had my friend Sue quilt it for me in 2003.
