I had lots of left overs from this quilt project and made 2 other quilts using some of the same fabrics.

This is set of 3 mini-quilts (called a triptych) that represent the artist's view of a forest fire. Yesterday is the forest fire itself. Today shows new growth, starting with Fireweed in the forest. Trip around Colorado - my first quilt
Name of Maker: Rhonda Denney
Trip around Colorado - my first quilt - Trip Around the World pattern kit with hand-dyed fabrics. The quilt was extended with additional borders so it fits a Queen size bed. The Columbine flower pattern was created by Rhonda Denney and appliquéd on the borders in two opposite corners. Quilting on the center portion is "stitch in the ditch". The Columbine flower pattern is quilted in the opposite two corners of the border, with echo quilting tying everything in the border together. This is Rhonda's first quilt, started in 2003 and finally quilted and finished in 2007.
Coyote Walks Through the End of Summer
Name of Maker: Self
Coyote Walks Through the End of Summer - Mostly appliqued elements with a row of Flying geese at the top to add to the autumn theme. The leaves I gathered from around my yard and traced thier shapes. You can't tell from the photo but the popular leaves are dimensional.
Love You to Pieces
Name of Maker: Debbie Cameron
Love You to Pieces - Using a photograph of my 6 yo daughter (sporting a straw hat and braids), I used Tammie Bowser's software program to scan the image into my computer and break it down into 6,140 1" squares. I then selected fabric which I arranged according to value and fused them onto a plain grid and sewed it all together. It was the neatest process because any color of fabric will work as long as the value is correct. I was awarded 1st place in the Textiles category for a local competition and then went on to win Best of Show against all categories in the next round. I proudly display this work of art in my home (and I can't even draw a stick figure person)!
